And you (incorrectly) assume that is every State fan.

You take statements that Carolina fans make (like the assertion that all we care about is beating THEM) and assume a State fan made it. You give no State fan the benefit of the doubt, but you give every delusional Carolina fan on these boards a pass.

And that makes YOU a Carolina fan. You simply cannot hide it.

I "slam" those who thump their chests every preseason and see a conspiracy behind every loss and every failure - year after year. Call a fish a fish and man up to reality.

It's OK. He reveals his point of view with every post that is negative about State.

He can't change that any more than a tiger can change his stripes.

Hans is a Carolina fan in wolf's clothing. He cannot post anything positive about State without being sure to include a slam on the Pack or Pack fans.

Leslie has great skills and talent. I do enjoy watching him play the game like he has recently. He has grown up and he is sharing the ball. State has improved all aound in passing to get the best shots.

Hans I'm pretty sure everyone agrees that they would love some more consistency over a few awesome jams. The thing you need to understand is they take issue with how you word your posts. I criticized Leslie but I also had a positive thing complementing him on his top 10 plays. You seem to focus all on the negative which is why many don't consider you an actual fan. It is possible to critique State like you do while still being positive. Also, I love a good 'showboating' super slam when it accompanies consistent smart play, which we can all agree cj needs to work on. I think he's getting better but we will see how he handles @unc this weekend. Go Pack!!!

I swear, you are the most hypersensitive group of I-don't-know-whats I've ever come across. I was agreeing with LiveandDie4Pack's post. Go back and read it, and if you don't agree with it, keep watching your stored highlight reels over and over after the Pack bows out of both tournaments early. That's assuming they even make the NCAA's. They should, and I know everyone is all giddy and ready to write them in after the big victory over the mighty Seminoles, but looking at the whole body of work, I'm not. This team needs to go into Chapel Hill and stomp UNC. It's statement time. Oh, and should they make that statement, it'd be nice if they didn't take the next 2 weeks off celebrating their victory.

I watched the videos that were linked in one of these posts (thanks for the links Harr.) Hans, are you saying Leslie should have gently caressed the ball and kissed it off the glass? Are you saying the rules of basketball should be reverted to the time of the early 70's when players were not allowed to dunk the ball? I believe that rule was put in place to prevent certain players from demonstrating their superior athleticism. Hans wants to return us to those days.

Oh by the way, wasn't there a school in the area that was pretty good when dunks weren't allowed?

What I was going to say. I could not care less about showboating highlight reel plays.

Hans, come on, you are a smart reasonable person and you know if it were not for dunks James Michael McCadoo or however it is spelled , would not have any points. I don't think he can shoot a jumper. He goes really hard to try and dunk as much as possible. I must agree with myself, dunks are a high percentage basket.
    GO WOLFPACK !!!!!!

Yeah I agree it wouldnt be showboating if it were a UNC, or Duke player( Vince Carter, Donte Jones). He did what he suppose to do as a power forward try to rip the basket down, instead of trying to lay it up, and risk getting it block. Whatever this kid does there will be hate coming from everywhere. Good job Calvin, just cut down on the turnovers.

Congratulations to CJ on the ESPN dunk of the night. It was an awesome in-bounds play.
(Brings back memories of HS and SL who never ever coached a decent in-bounds play.)

It's "showboating" when an NCSU player does it. It's awesome power basketball when a UNC player does it. I think it's one of the NCAA rules.

Calvin still tried going to the basket with 3 FSU players on him last night -- and those FSU guys were tall. When he did give it up we'd get an easy bucket. My guess is he's coached during practice to pass when he's covered by 2 or 3 defenders, but once the game starts he does his own thing, so to speak. Must drive Gottfried & Lutz crazy.

    Lol
So jamming a follow-up shot because you're above the rim when gathering it, is "showboating"??

    CALVIN! OH MY!!

  • TruthBKnown Banned Again01 Feb 20, 2013

What I liked better than the dunks was the maturity in his decision-making when covered by 2-3 defenders. He passed out of those double teams. In previous games, he'd still shoot an ill-advised shot. If he has learned to pass it back out when the shot isn't there, then we will be a MUCH better team. Plus, that will make life easier on him. Opposing teams won't be able to just collapse on CJL and beat us on the play. Now they'll have to stay honest on defense and cover the other open men. That will open up things for Calvin, too.

I hope the coach is drilling this into his head. He needs to be reviewing this game tape and pounding it repeatedly so it sticks!

And the dunks were nice, too!

  • LiveandDie4Pack Feb 20, 2013

I would like it a lot more if he brings that intensity to every game.

Top 10 plays are nice, but more consistancy and not turning the ball what seems like every play by traveling is what I would like more.

Other than that, Agreed with you. Good Job Calvin! GO Pack!!!
