RE: Two ESPN Top 10 Plays
I would like it a lot more if he brings that intensity to every game.
Top 10 plays are nice, but more consistancy and not turning the ball what seems like every play by traveling is what I would like more.
Other than that, Agreed with you. Good Job Calvin! GO Pack!!!
RE: Two ESPN Top 10 Plays
What I liked better than the dunks was the maturity in his decision-making when covered by 2-3 defenders. He passed out of those double teams. In previous games, he'd still shoot an ill-advised shot. If he has learned to pass it back out when the shot isn't there, then we will be a MUCH better team. Plus, that will make life easier on him. Opposing teams won't be able to just collapse on CJL and beat us on the play. Now they'll have to stay honest on defense and cover the other open men. That will open up things for Calvin, too.
I hope the coach is drilling this into his head. He needs to be reviewing this game tape and pounding it repeatedly so it sticks!
And the dunks were nice, too!

What I was going to say. I could not care less about showboating highlight reel plays.
RE: Two ESPN Top 10 Plays
Lol
So jamming a follow-up shot because you're above the rim when gathering it, is "showboating"??
Lmbao... Envy is a powerful emotion :)

Calvin still tried going to the basket with 3 FSU players on him last night -- and those FSU guys were tall. When he did give it up we'd get an easy bucket. My guess is he's coached during practice to pass when he's covered by 2 or 3 defenders, but once the game starts he does his own thing, so to speak. Must drive Gottfried & Lutz crazy.
"Showboating"
It's "showboating" when an NCSU player does it. It's awesome power basketball when a UNC player does it. I think it's one of the NCAA rules.
ESPN "Dunk of the Night"
Congratulations to CJ on the ESPN dunk of the night. It was an awesome in-bounds play.
(Brings back memories of HS and SL who never ever coached a decent in-bounds play.)
