Has Leslie's stock fallen so far...
... that he comes back to plague State for another season? What a nightmare that would be.
RE: Has Leslie's stock fallen so far...
Leslie's stock IMO, has to have fallen off the face of the earth. I work with disadvantaged kids with more problems than one can imagine, but this fella, I just don't get. How do you motivate the unmotivated? He has all the reasons in the world to be motivated to do his best and he chose otherwise. I am a lifelong Wolfpack fan, but I can't tell you the answer to this riddle. GO WOLFPACK!!!!!
RE: Has Leslie's stock fallen so far...
This year's NBA draft has been described as the weakest in more than 20 years. This leads some analysts to suggest that many players might come out earlier than they should based on either their readiness or their potential.
I do think Leslie's stock has fallen. I believe what some viewers described as apathy on his part against Carolina was the same thing that will give NBA teams pause. He is at his best when he is playing against true power forwards, because he is quicker than they are. Against small forwards - which is where he would have to play in the NBA - he loses the only real advantage he has. He is not a great outside shooter, and he only seems to create his own shots when he takes it to the basket. I don't think Leslie was apathetic against Carolina - I think he was neutralized.
I have seen three State underclassmen listed in various mock drafts (Brown and Warren also). Despite the prevailing wisdom that says at least two of them will declare, I'm not ready to bet the ranch on that.

I'm not sure if Gott would necessarily welcome him back depending on which players declare for the draft.
RE: Has Leslie's stock fallen so far...
I think Leslie had been playing pretty consistent up until the UNC game. He just isn't going to come out and play with fire. It's just not him. He's not going to do it Wednesday and he won't do it in 10 years. Sure, he may play hard for 10 minutes or so and we'll see flashes of greatness, but that's it. I like the guy, but I don't have these unreasonable expectations of him. He played like garbage Saturday and at one point I thought he was being paid to lose the game. He'll probably play like he normaly does on Wednesday and score 15 - 17 points, get some rebounds, shoot 65% from the line and have 3-4 turnovers. He's generally, consistently average.
That said, his stock probably fell a little after Saturday. My God it was bad.
Leslie, Brown, and Warren are going to the draft. I wish Warren or Brown would stay, but I don't see it happening.

Warren is not going to the draft.
he'll come back and work his way into a lottery pick.

I hope you're right, but I'm not so sure. I've said before that I think he will have the longest career out of everybody on that team. I think he goes, especially if State pulls it together and makes a run in the NCAA tourney, which I think is possible.

Rodney Purvis will also have a long NBA caeer, but he's realizing it's not going to come easy or quickly... which is good. TJ has tasted some success, but has also seen games where he was completely lost, so hopefully he too... understands that more time is needed, to make himself as marketable as possible.

Warren is certainly a player and a future NBA'er, and as Ken D mentions this is an extremely weak draft. Never know what goes through these kids minds, but if State makes a run in the postseason and he plays well then the watch will begin. If he is friends with CJL then he may be getting some advice to go, CJL changed his mind last year and is paying for it
RE: Has Leslie's stock fallen so far...
I have been defending CJL since day one. My question is, How do you not get up for UNC? It was like his mind was a thousand miles away. Dont think one game will cause your stock to fall off that much.
