CJ Leslie HAS GOT TO GO

CJ Leslie HAS GOT TO GO

Look, I have been a supporter a lot time for Leslie, but the fact remains is I will not miss him really when he goes to the NBA or wherever. I think some guys are really unteachable and uncoachable and he is one of them. You can blame Mark gottfried all you want, but I really think Coach Gott has gotten all out of he can of leslie. You know sometimes we blame coaches for not getting their players up for games, but a lot rides on the player to get himself up for it, its not all on the coach. But as always I still love my wolfpack and will not give stop rooting for them, Go Pack!!

RE: CJ Leslie HAS GOT TO GO

I don't necessarily agree with your larger point.... but I have to say that I was very disappointed with his very careless and lackadaisical passing saturday. He pretty much put the ball right in UNC hands several times, through shear carelessness. What good is a rebounding advantage then?

RE: CJ Leslie HAS GOT TO GO

I will tell you how much you do not want to see him go. Imagine right now that you saw the headline "CJ Leslie tears ACL out for the rest of the season" - you know what your first reaction will be - OMG!!!!

Leslie is going to be important in any run that the Pack makes this year - believe that. As a rival fan (and yes I think it is a rivalry) I enjoy watching when Leslie checks out for a game, but when he is on, he is about unstoppable.

CJ had 4 turnovers in the first couple of minutes of the game and 2 the rest of the way. Your all-everything PG had 4 as did your Rookie POY candidate.

How easily some wolffies forget how many games they would have lost over the past 3 seasons without CJ. Similarly, there appears to be selective short-term memory wrt Howell's dumb fouls over the years and the times that (one dimensional) Wood has gone missing-in-action...both costing key games throughout.

As stated in a prior thread, there are other key concerns besides CJ that Gott has yet to figure out (Purvis slump, Lewis minutes, lack of TEAM DEFENSE, to name a few).

Road wins are hard in the ACC. Try to read more into it than that is beyond stupid.

RE: CJ Leslie HAS GOT TO GO

What a childish post........calling the man stupid just cause yoi do not know how to look past a win or loss of your team...........jurk!

RE: CJ Leslie HAS GOT TO GO

If he wants to go pro he need to play like it

RE: CJ Leslie HAS GOT TO GO

Ive got to go with braves 68% and Sportznut 26% (the other 6% my wife has)

On one hand I believe if you are a star-caliber player, you bring effort every game out. Take Green for VT. Every game he gives 100% even though Im sure being a national top scorer on possibly one of the worst teams in the country has to be agonizing. Yet he never slacks because he has a winners mentality, and plays hard game in and game out. Calvin has had moments this season where he looks preoccupied with something other than the game. In the heels game I thought Purvis played with much more emotion and should have played while CJ watched.

Now..if Calvin suffered an injury, in any game, I would definately scream OMG. Because like you I too think that in order for the Pack to make any kind of run in the ncaas, we will need CJ/Calvin to play up to his potential. I love his game when he plays it, but Ive never been a fan of his attitude.

Lo Brown and Howell are this year's stars on the Pack team, Leslie can be a star for sure. However, the stretch run has arrived and there is no time to wait for a player to adjust their attitude. Gottfried is probably better served. Treating Calvin as the third best option untill he proves he wants to play. Heck Lewis has enough time in now that he can start at PG and move Brown to 2 and Warren to Leslie's spot. What I didn't agree with is a fan of a team wanting a player of his caliber gone

RE: CJ Leslie HAS GOT TO GO

Well I appreciate you guys feedback, but I do think he is a cancer stick to this team. I really believe if we another guy besides him we would be a whole lot better off.

Don't know where you are - but local radio discussed this for most of the afternoon drive - Gold mentioned sitting him and treating him as a reserve for now - Lot of State fans agreed
