Speaking of someone who doesn't know the law. Ballistics and fingerprints two very different things. Stop saying random law and order phrases and get some fresh air old man. Smh

Speaking of "how the law works", did anyone ever hear who the ballistics determined the fingerprints on the "PJ" gun belonged to?

^^Yup... I'd totally forgotten how they (the pansies) blamed that girl's RAPE on her.

    how embarrassing.

but, rather expected... from such an embarrassing bunch.

Actually, if it happened at UNC, the (snicker) "honor court" would have probably pushed for a restraining order against her, and given the player a pat on the back. You know... that same "honor court" that protects rapists.

And they are sorely disappointed right about now. The girlfriend didn't care about this. Someone else called the cops, not her. It was probably prudent, though. I mean, when you see a heated argument, you never know how it might escalate later on. In this case, nothing happened. But sometimes, the girl could turn up beaten or worse. So it was probably smart to get the cops to follow up on this.

Too bad this will go nowhere (too bad for the Holes that want so badly for others to be bad like their university, rather than wanting their university to improve to the level of other finer institutions).

Maybe if UNC hasn't had so many repeated issues, the microscope would go away.

I appreciate the fact that DD suspended him immediately for his run in with the law. Whether or not the charges are dropped he also has a one game suspension as well. Message is if you get arrested you get suspended. That's just not the case elsewhere...

Yeah, it'd be all peachy keen if he had only done it in private! Is that what you're saying, you sicko? If this is the girl, it sounds like she is playing the part of the typical battered woman - denial, defending her abuser, etc. Never understood it. Hopefully, she can get away before something worse happens to her. And the usual suspects continue to make light of domestic violence.

The truth is that if this was a Carolina player, Crackpride would be stalking her twitter account, her facebook, family, friends and investigating what kind of car she's drives and if she was letting him drive it and if she is somehow connected with a booster. Also, they would be following up with the campus police, and judicial system to make sure he got the book thrown at him, if not then they would be sending a petition to the AG and the National Association of Violence Against Women.

Eh still not the best decision to put your hands on the woman in public. 1 game suspension metered before "all the facts were known" is still appropriate IMO.

Without a doubt, if this had been a UN*C athlete there is ZERO chance he'd have served a one-game suspension. Absolutely a zero chance.

http://www.newsobserver.com/2013/08/04/3083585/wolfpack-running-back-thornton.htmlIt is unclear who reported what, because it says the university employee reported this to the N.C. State police. But it refers to the girlfriend as the "complainant". So I'm not exactly sure who really did the complaining here.

I haven't been able to verify if this girl is Thornton's girlfriend or not (the "assault victim's" name is not included in any of the articles I've read...)

So take this for what it is worth:

Are we finally learning the truth about this? That it was pretty much nothing at all? Apparently, a university employee reported the "assault", not the girlfriend. The girlfriend sure doesn't seem to think there was a problem. It is beginning to look like someone stuck their nose in this when it was nothing but an argument at the library.

And btw, the police report stated that there "were no visible signs of the alleged assault." It sounds to me like the police just followed protocol and arrested him so the court could decide. It won't surprise me if this ends up with dropped charges.

Thornton is going to miss one game anyway. If this really is a bunch ado about nothing, it will be a shame. At least it is only one game.
