a little advice for jelly, this morning...

his posts (after such an impressive win by the UNC basketball team) makes him look even more desperate than norm (and that is pretty darn desperate).

He signed to play with TOB... A new coach didn't just "come in"... He knew WHO his coach would be when he signed.

He was given a choice to come back to the team as its 2nd string QB, and HE CHOSE not to accept said challenge.

Me too, and I completely agree. Hate the way Wilson was treated. He was (and is) a class act, and he gave everything for this university.

When RW was recruited he was given the opportunity to play both sports so why should that change when another coach comes in. I am NC state alumni and I think Tom was wrong on this one. We all have our opinions

And, there's no guarantee that RW wouldn't have proved capable of regaining his starting position... He was simply informed that he'd have to work his way back to first string... As any player that had missed spring ball would.

based on TOBy's actions, RW would not have played a snap...

as such, NFL teams would not have gambled on drafting a player that basically was inactive on the football field for the season prior.

  • Wolfpocalypse Now Reigns Supreme Dec 4, 2013

Look at it this way: if Wilson had stayed another year, Glennon would have gotten less experience before going to the NFL, and we would probably only have two starting QBs in the league instead of three.

It is rather nice to be able to say we currently have three more first-string NFL QBs than Pansy U has ever had.

You're new so I'll give you some advice:

Stalkerkato likes to argue on this one constantly. He's wrong and he knows it. He's been slapped around countless times but still comes back for more. This is how we determined he's a masochist. Don't give him any further pleasure.

You're right, and for those who worked hard throughout the off season and still didn't get the starting job, can and do continue to work hard and compete. Had he participated in camp and not gotten the go-ahead, then he could continue to work hard and earn it. It's not fair to have a player skip camp and still have the same opportunities as those who did.

    Quite simple...

competition for playing time does not stop at the end of spring practice...drives players to remain sharp throughout the season and is the foundation for all good teams at all levels.

RW was not allowed to do what everyone else was.

  • ITerrifySmitty Dec 4, 2013
    Pro

RW made a CHOICE to become the 2nd string QB.... and, TOB accepted the FACT that he and Bible had done everything necessary to complete something they've done countless times before.... prepare a kid to play QB in the NFL... something that pastel pansy U has NEVER done (adequately). and as such, they were fine letting him move along to a bigger conference, with greater TV coverage, all along wanting nothing but the best for RW... hence WHY RW's actions spoke so LOUDLY... when he showed up at Alumni Day the fall AFTER playing at wiscy, and hugged TOB in front of God and everyone.

Actions by players doing something that NO pansy QB has ever done > opines of pansies clearly envious of the aforementioned FACT.

If he wanted the spot that's fine, but he shouldn't have waited until the end of camp to ask for that chance. How was it fair to Glennon who had been working throughout camp to have him come in at the end and try?

"I really want the fans, N.C. State alumni and most of all my teammates to know if I had been given an equal opportunity to compete for the starting job, I would not have asked for my release," Wilson said Saturday in a telephone interview. "I am a competitor."

He said he didn’t want to have the starting job handed to him on a silver platter, but wanted an equal chance to compete for it.

Wilson added that he is "torn up" about leaving, calling the whole thing "heartbreaking."

The only hostage situation going on was Glennon over TOBy...

    Correct.

He was given a choice, and HE CHOSE baseball.

no PROGRAM in America is worthy of being held hostage by ONE individual... he was given the ability to RE-join the team, he just wasn't comfortable coming in as the #2 guy. His undying love for the GREATER North Carolina STATE University is really all that one need look at, if wondering whether or not the now older/wiser RW feels the least bit slighted by TOB and Pack nation.

I think it's hilarious to watch Whackadoodles riding the coat-tails of these young men not giving them any credit for their own success. So please remind me how many conference titles these QBs won for the Pack? It's a team game girlz. RW got kicked to the curb by TOBy and the AD and fans let it happen except for the sake of RW. And who recruited and signed RW, Chuckie, who was kicked to the curb. Rivers, great QB, recruited by the kicked out Chuckie. MG, recruited by TOBy, who you Crackpriders whined about incessantly. I gotta admit, I thought MG way too slow for the NFL and that tight man to man would expose other issues. He has surprised me up to this point however he will be schemed and like many young QBs will have to continue to refine his game to keep his starting spot. It will be interesting to see what happens when and if he has competition at the Bucs. I find it interesting that no Crackpride minion on here laments the fact that TOBy and the AD treated RW like yesterdays girlfriend with no regrets for that mistake.

  • Dr. PwntV2 Dec 3, 2013

Russell Wilson represented NC State well yet again tonight. He was dominant as always in helping his team route the 9-2 Saints by nearly 4 touchdowns. Rivers had a decent day but it was a defensive battle between the two and the better defense won (3 turnovers). He had a pick but it wasn't his fault. Because Gates fumbled the catch, he never technically gained possession and it was ruled an INT. Glennon struggled a bit against the Panthers but they're a tough defense for anyone (opposing QBR avg = 66.57).

    Wilson - 22/30 for 310 yds, 3 TDs, 0 INTs, and a QB Rating of 139.6
    Rivers - 22/37 for 252 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT, and a QB Rating of 80.0
    Glennon - 14/21 for 180 yds, 0 TDs, 1 INT, and a QB Rating of 73.5

Mike Glennon earns NFL Rookie of the Month honors.

"That run of strong play has earned Glennon honors as the NFL's top offensive rookie for the month of November. Glennon went 62-of-88 for 785 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception while leading the Bucs to a 3-1 record. Glennon also recorded three passer ratings of 123.1 or better, which are the three highest passer ratings by rookie quarterbacks in Buccaneers history."
