He probably wouldn't have gone as high. That doesn't change the fact that he is a graduate of NC State, unlike what 75 claims. Nice attempt at deflection as usual, sportsack/hansy.

Russell Wilson was kicked to the curb by NC State and was drafted out of Wisc., sane State fans will admit that he may not have gone as high as he did in the draft had he not been at Wiscy. TOB did him a favor, while getting himself fired.

You sound awfully angry. So Gio is up for ROY. Congrats on having a player in the NFL - has nothing to do with your current athletic program, but if it makes you feel better, go for it skippy.

Also, remember last year when RW was up fro ROY as well?

Now here we go with claiming Wilson again............this after bidding him good by saying hello to Glennon. Yea..........it's like dook claiming what's his name in Cleveland. If it makes you feel better.......go for it.
Thought the thread started by saying they all GRADUATED from state? Really?

I read ESPN headlines http://espn.go.com/blog/cincinnati-bengals/post/_/id/2985/bengals-giovani-bernard-nfl-rookie-of-yearGio Bernard for Offensive ROY?

also they left out the part that Glennon was 9 for 25 for 90 yds and 2 INT's but heck when you are delusional why let facts stand in your way.

Congrats on having some QB's in the NFL - has nothing to do with your current athletic program but it makes you feel better - go for it skippy

So if you check the WRAL sports headlines today you will see:

"Philip Rivers helps Chargers beat Giants 37-14"
"Glennon throws 2 TD passes, Bucs beat Bills 27-6"

Where are the ones about the kerliner QBs?

Come on let them crow it is all they have to distract themselves from the pathetic pile of dung their athletic program has become. It is curious how most of the blame for their disastrous season is blamed on the recruiting failures of the same coach they praise in this thread - As the Delusional Fan Base Turns

NEVER has an ex pansy player been first string QB.

^^^^ and as fate (me always winning) would have it... Nowhere in that quote does it say anything remotely close to "Glennon holding anyone/thing hostage"....

It merely speaks exactly to WHAT I said happened... He was demoted to 2nd string, and didn't like the idea of having to earn the right to be put ahead of someone that was equally suited to do the job... So he transferred to a nice school, in a nice league, that didn't have a stud he'd have to overtake as starter.

Logic, is actually rather easy to follow if you've got the means.

This is the only link needed...

"I really want the fans, N.C. State alumni and most of all my teammates to know if I had been given an equal opportunity to compete for the starting job, I would not have asked for my release," Wilson said Saturday in a telephone interview. "I am a competitor."

...unless you choose to support the argument that RW is a liar.

Link or it's just another (in a long line of) LIE, from a fan base well known for doing just that (lying).

tFACT that Russell Wilson still HUGS TOB when they cross paths is rather INdisputable, and so-

simply qualifying for a bowl was not enough...

TOBy was looking to get 10-wins out of Neck last season in order to lay the groundwork for a contract renewal (retirement at Western Blvd U).

alas, TOBy kicked RW to the curb and sacrificed his credibility for naught.

Great story, heman -- except that's not what TOBy told Russell...

unless you are of the opinion that Russell is a liar (actions say otherwise).

TOBy gambled on Neck to win more (especially his last season) -- and he lost.

And when TOB understood that RW probably would not be back for his 4th year, he allowed RW to be recognized on Senior Day. And when RW finally decided to bypass Spring Practice for professional baseball, TOB moved the program to the next chapter with MG at QB. And when RW asked if he could returnto the team, TOB informed him he was welcome to return but MG was the starter after Spring Practice.

So what are the other viable options TOB could have considered here?

  • kato_karma3.0 Dec 5, 2013
    Bench Warmer

RW had gone through the rigors of 4 "spring balls" and had proven himself off the field, as well.

TOBy's inflexibility (in a non-military enviornment) cost him respect AND his job.

  • ITerrifySmitty Dec 5, 2013
    Pro

The job was decided when one took his name out of the running for it.

Coming back AFTER others have gone through the rigors of "spring ball", sends one to the 2nd string... No matter the player. Rules are rules, particularly to ex-Marines.

somewhere along the line, heman got the facts muddled up...

"I really want the fans, N.C. State alumni and most of all my teammates to know if I had been given an equal opportunity to compete for the starting job, I would not have asked for my release," Wilson said Saturday in a telephone interview. "I am a competitor."

He said he didn’t want to have the starting job handed to him on a silver platter, but wanted an equal chance to compete for it.

TOBy's option was to allow Russell to compete -- it was the correct option for this particular player/person and circumstance. Worse case, if Neck had tucked his tail between his legs and left TOBy without RW or Neck on the roster, things would be no worse at Western Blvd U today -- chances are, the last 2 seasons combined would have actually been better. One thing for certain, TOBy would have gained respect for treating Russell fairly AND for forcing Neck to do what every other player is expected to do...compete for playing time.

  • Deman Dec 5, 2013
    Sports Legend

Let's see...RW was graduating from State...RW was recognized on Senior Day with the other Seniors because it was understood between all parties that RW would not be back for his last year...after failing at professional baseball, RW asks TOB if he can return to the team...TOB says he is more than welcome to return but MG is the starter coming out of Spring Practice...RW asks permission to transfer to Wisconsin...TOB grants that request...

So what other viable options were available to TOB in this situation?

  • kato_karma3.0 Dec 5, 2013

good thing jelly did not abruptly stop...

else Scott would have rear-ended him.

    BA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!!!!!!!!!

    Back on topic.

Russell was an exceptional QB whilst at NCSU...

but he was a better person and ambassador for the University.

Hard to understand why TOBy did what he did when other viable options were available.
