@PackPride - Russell Wilson is 3rd in the NFL in QB rating (108.5) . Philip Rivers is No. 6 (104.4), and Mike Glennon is No. 11 (90.3). Not bad.

I think it's hilarious to watch Whackadoodles riding the coat-tails of these young men not giving them any credit for their own success. So please remind me how many conference titles these QBs won for the Pack? It's a team game girlz. RW got kicked to the curb by TOBy and the AD and fans let it happen except for the sake of RW. And who recruited and signed RW, Chuckie, who was kicked to the curb. Rivers, great QB, recruited by the kicked out Chuckie. MG, recruited by TOBy, who you Crackpriders whined about incessantly. I gotta admit, I thought MG way too slow for the NFL and that tight man to man would expose other issues. He has surprised me up to this point however he will be schemed and like many young QBs will have to continue to refine his game to keep his starting spot. It will be interesting to see what happens when and if he has competition at the Bucs. I find it interesting that no Crackpride minion on here laments the fact that TOBy and the AD treated RW like yesterdays girlfriend with no regrets for that mistake.

a certain pansy just can't come to grips with NCSU being QBU.

RW relishes his time spent at the GREATER North Carolina... State University.... as his actions spell that out rather clearly.

Also, TOB SIGNED RW, NOT Chuckie....

but, we're all rather used to watching you LIE.

Wilson was attempting to control and determine the status of our program. O'Brien made the right choice. Regardless, he holds a degree from NC State University and is highly supportive of NC State and NC State Football.

    Wrong...

Wilson only requested an opportunity to compete for the starting position.

    Correct.

He was given a choice, and HE CHOSE baseball.

no PROGRAM in America is worthy of being held hostage by ONE individual... he was given the ability to RE-join the team, he just wasn't comfortable coming in as the #2 guy. His undying love for the GREATER North Carolina STATE University is really all that one need look at, if wondering whether or not the now older/wiser RW feels the least bit slighted by TOB and Pack nation.

"I really want the fans, N.C. State alumni and most of all my teammates to know if I had been given an equal opportunity to compete for the starting job, I would not have asked for my release," Wilson said Saturday in a telephone interview. "I am a competitor."

He said he didn’t want to have the starting job handed to him on a silver platter, but wanted an equal chance to compete for it.

Wilson added that he is "torn up" about leaving, calling the whole thing "heartbreaking."

The only hostage situation going on was Glennon over TOBy...

and TOBy didn't have the intestinal fortitude to do the right thing.

You're joking right? If that was the case why did he wait until the end of camp to say "Hey Coach im ready now."? Come on now.

If he wanted the spot that's fine, but he shouldn't have waited until the end of camp to ask for that chance. How was it fair to Glennon who had been working throughout camp to have him come in at the end and try?

  • ITerrifySmitty Dec 4, 2013

RW made a CHOICE to become the 2nd string QB.... and, TOB accepted the FACT that he and Bible had done everything necessary to complete something they've done countless times before.... prepare a kid to play QB in the NFL... something that pastel pansy U has NEVER done (adequately). and as such, they were fine letting him move along to a bigger conference, with greater TV coverage, all along wanting nothing but the best for RW... hence WHY RW's actions spoke so LOUDLY... when he showed up at Alumni Day the fall AFTER playing at wiscy, and hugged TOB in front of God and everyone.

Actions by players doing something that NO pansy QB has ever done > opines of pansies clearly envious of the aforementioned FACT.

    Quite simple...

competition for playing time does not stop at the end of spring practice...drives players to remain sharp throughout the season and is the foundation for all good teams at all levels.

RW was not allowed to do what everyone else was.

You're right, and for those who worked hard throughout the off season and still didn't get the starting job, can and do continue to work hard and compete. Had he participated in camp and not gotten the go-ahead, then he could continue to work hard and earn it. It's not fair to have a player skip camp and still have the same opportunities as those who did.

You're new so I'll give you some advice:

Stalkerkato likes to argue on this one constantly. He's wrong and he knows it. He's been slapped around countless times but still comes back for more. This is how we determined he's a masochist. Don't give him any further pleasure.

Look at it this way: if Wilson had stayed another year, Glennon would have gotten less experience before going to the NFL, and we would probably only have two starting QBs in the league instead of three.

It is rather nice to be able to say we currently have three more first-string NFL QBs than Pansy U has ever had.

based on TOBy's actions, RW would not have played a snap...

as such, NFL teams would not have gambled on drafting a player that basically was inactive on the football field for the season prior.

He signed to play with TOB... A new coach didn't just "come in"... He knew WHO his coach would be when he signed.

He was given a choice to come back to the team as its 2nd string QB, and HE CHOSE not to accept said challenge.

else Scott would have rear-ended him.

    BA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!!!!!!!!!

    Back on topic.

Russell was an exceptional QB whilst at NCSU...

but he was a better person and ambassador for the University.

Hard to understand why TOBy did what he did when other viable options were available.

  • Deman Dec 5, 2013
    Sports Legend

Let's see...RW was graduating from State...RW was recognized on Senior Day with the other Seniors because it was understood between all parties that RW would not be back for his last year...after failing at professional baseball, RW asks TOB if he can return to the team...TOB says he is more than welcome to return but MG is the starter coming out of Spring Practice...RW asks permission to transfer to Wisconsin...TOB grants that request...

So what other viable options were available to TOB in this situation?

somewhere along the line, heman got the facts muddled up...

TOBy's option was to allow Russell to compete -- it was the correct option for this particular player/person and circumstance. Worse case, if Neck had tucked his tail between his legs and left TOBy without RW or Neck on the roster, things would be no worse at Western Blvd U today -- chances are, the last 2 seasons combined would have actually been better. One thing for certain, TOBy would have gained respect for treating Russell fairly AND for forcing Neck to do what every other player is expected to do...compete for playing time.

The job was decided when one took his name out of the running for it.

Coming back AFTER others have gone through the rigors of "spring ball", sends one to the 2nd string... No matter the player. Rules are rules, particularly to ex-Marines.
