LOL...so if Glennon is a "replacement" and not a starter because the coach yanked the plug on Freeman and named Glennon the starter for the rest of the year, what exactly does that make TJ considering he didn't get to start until the top TWO QBS on his team got hurt?

LOL...PSSSST...THREE (3) former NC State QBs will be starting in the NFL as of this weekend. That just has to sting, doesn't it?

And, for the time being, the State obsessed UNC-CH fans will have to accept that Russell was replaced at State by a STARTING NFL QB. :-)

    LOL

And we kicked to the curb (if you agree with sportnutz' assessment of all that) one of the best quarterbacks currently in the NFL. Think about THAT for a minute!

  • Deman Sep 27, 2013

    LOL

You are correct...that is crazy! NC State has turned into such a QB factory that one of the best QBs in the NFL right now was "kicked to the curb" to make room for ANOTHER QB that is now a starter in the NFL.

Perhaps a parade is in order? Afterall...NC State does have three former QBs starting in the NFL now!

If we could get Rivers, Glennon and Russell to all come back to Raleigh for a weekend visit, you dang tootin' we should put 'em on a float and have a parade!

I don't get it either, tommy. Rivalry is one thing, but once they graduate, why not pull for a former ACC player?

Having 3 starting in the NFL is very impressive. I hope Glennon can have one of all-time best games. If he does he could keep this job from now on.

    LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Sporty, your predictions are like UNC's free throws - few and far between.

It's now week 12 and Glennon is STILL starting. Here's a little something extra for you to chew on over the weekend...

"I think they (the Bucs) are getting really quality quarterback play from Mike Glennon, who is without question the best rookie quarterback in this class." - Greg Cosell, NFL Films

NFL Films guy really? EJ Manuel?

I guess playing with inferior teammates at NC State didn't allow all of Glennon's abilities to come through - wonder how many other players at State are stuck in the muck? Glennon's dad was right about State

Looks like they did well at developing QBs - bad for them that they couldn't develop much more and lost their jobs -

That sure is a lot of typing to admit you were wrong, AGAIN (real shocker, I know).

And according to NFL.com, that "NFL Films guy" is [and I quote] "one of the best analysts in the country" and is someone who "probably watches more game film than anyone not employed by an NFL team."

Yea, I think I'll trust that guy's opinion over the likes of you (I doubt he will start next week LOLLLER).

Oh, and in case you've missed the QB Passer Ratings this season, you might want to take note of where your "main man Mike Glennon" is...(hint - ahead of RG3, Tom Brady, Andrew Luck and EJ Manuel)

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/passing/sort/quarterbackRating

You can take your seat now, son.

  • Dr. PwntV2 Nov 22, 2013

And you actually think EJ Manuel is the better rookie QB despite having fewer completions, fewer passing yards, a lower completion percentage, fewer touchdowns, more fumbles, and a lower QBR?

LOLOLOL this has to be the most severe case of denial I've ever seen.

Where is Yates? Because you know there are more than 32 QB's who have attempted a pass this season.

Also, yards per attempt.....interesting. What is Tampa's play calling scheme vs. the top 5? Please clarify this for us stalkerkato.

Well, it's Week 12 and your "main man Mike Glennon" not only started, but was instrumental in leading his team to a W over the division leading Detroit Lions.

    Glennon - 14/21 for 247 yds, 2 TDs, 0 INTs, and a QB Rating of 138.7

"Glennon's 34-of-44 for 478 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions over the last two weeks and he's thrown 12 touchdowns and two interceptions over the last seven games, moving him to the front of the line of this year's rookie quarterbacks."

    More great press for Mike.

"No rookie quarterback has ever thrown a touchdown in each of their first eight starts. Well, that was true until yesterday when Mike Glennon accomplished that feat. Glennon is quietly proving to be the real deal and improving each and every week, but vitriol for the coach and the incessant losing to start the season are blinding Buccaneer fans to what could be a mid round miracle selection."

"He may fall back to Earth in the next few games, but for now Buc fans need to give credit where credit is due. Mike Glennon looks like he very well could be the guy, so please quit crying about winning and losing out on a guy like Mariotta or Bridgewater. They have proven nothing yet at this level, and Glennon has at least shown a ton of promise. Time to get on board Buc fans."

    More praise for Mike...

"Very rarely have we seen him, in anything, make a repeated mistake. There's a lot to learn, there's always going to be lots of mistakes that are out there, it's such a difficult and important position he plays. ... I think he's very mature, he's very focused, he works extremely hard and just has a very good football IQ," offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan said.

With the Panthers on deck next, I wouldn't hold it against him if he made some of those rookie mistakes this week.

Your "main man" Mike Glennon earned NFL Rookie of the Month honors.

"That run of strong play has earned Glennon honors as the NFL's top offensive rookie for the month of November. Glennon went 62-of-88 for 785 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception while leading the Bucs to a 3-1 record. Glennon also recorded three passer ratings of 123.1 or better, which are the three highest passer ratings by rookie quarterbacks in Buccaneers history."
