As far as I know, we are not focused on DUKE.

State can be inspired by the 2012-13 Carolina team. The 2012-13 team also had lost 4 starters (Henson and Zeller) and 2 underclassmen (Barnes and Marshall) from the '11-'12 team and their "rebuilding" year yielded a 25-11 mark...and in this "rebuilding" year Carolina finished ahead of State. Surely you think State can turn the tables don't you?

you obviously didn't take the time to read the entire post , I said the loss to Central is unacceptable and that the team needed to show improvement THIS year or he and Yow are on the hot seat imho. Herb made it to the tourney his last 5 years. Next year will be MG's third full recruiting season , this years recruit need to show much improvement by then, right now Anja and Washington are not showing promise .Barber will be good Warren will be gone

We really are infatuated with UNC and we need to realize we will never be the program they are but at least we can be half as good.

Rebuilding from the 70's? Gott has had PLENTY of time to turn this program into a winner! The overall lack of success will continue at State College until the administration, athletic department and the fanbase all get on the same page and stop putting the focus on big brother down the road and invest their time and resources into their own back yard.

Losing 4 starters, 2 of which were underclassmen.

Do you (by chance) wear a helmet???

All of us state fans are writing letters to Obama asking him to fire Nurse Yow!!!

Gott on the hotseat??? I think someone is letting their emotions get the best of them. One loss to nc central does not warrant the hot seat. The man has gone to the tourney for his first 2 years.... what else do you want? Did you think we were gunna win back to back nat. championships??? we have a young, thin, talented team. give the man a break.

This is Gotts third season, he made the NCAA tourney the previous two and there is still plenty of time left to get this squad in the tourney. Where are you getting that he only made the tourney once?

  • unbiasedaccfan Nov 21, 2013

Gottfried did make the NCAA his first year, but hasn't since. I have not been impressed with his X's and O's thus far or his in-game adjustments. As far as Yow - now we know why Gary Williams didn't like her. She was a popular or sentimental hire with her sister at State for all those years, but her track record of hires has not impressed me. I think Yow has to be the first one to go!!!

Watching y'all go 8-20 was quite memorable.

So memorable in fact, that I can't remember State ever being that bad.

I also know they aren't 3+ decades good! Lol! Must be sad having to sit on the couch watching big brother win big over that time. These facts just cant be disputed! Lol......

the pansy KNOWS that as bad as State is... they're NOT 8-20 BAD!!!

Ah but wouldn't those National Championships right after that 8-20 season be oh so nice for your Pack! It will NEVER happen! I will say however that state college is a model of consistency!! The losing just keeps on going and going and going!

Could be worse. I can see them matching the football teams 0-for ACC record.

  • dooksucks 11 Nov 21, 2013

State has '02-'03 UNC written all over it. Be prepared for a very long season.

no one "likes" it.... but, when you're REBUILDING (from the ground up essentially), it's going to happen.

as long as the hoops team doesn't do something UBER EMBARRASSING like go 8-20... I'll be cool with losing ONE season to rebuilding.

I agree there has not been enough time for MG, however, Herb made the tournament the last 5 years he was at State. Making the tournament is not going to be enough, especially since most people agree that MG made it with Sidney Lowe's players. MG's team has to show improvement this year, these are his players in his system. The jury is still out on him and I totally agree that Doeren was left nothing. I don't like writing off seasons.

Gott has yet to NOT make the big dance (2 for 2) and has yet ANOTHER top 20 class coming in.

And, we all knew what kind of cupboard TOB left Doeren....

Both will be fine (which in turn means DY is fine)... just write 2013 off, as I have.

  • sportznutv2.11 Nov 21, 2013

I love the Pack always have and always will. There is NOT ONE excuse for losing to NC Central, not one. If our fan base accepts this kind of loss THEY are lost. I still believe that Gottfried is the man for the Pack, however, he has 2 years in since the first year he was hired too late to recruit. This team must show significant improvement this year in preparation for what should be a good year next year. Lack of improvement this year lands MG and Yow on the hot seat in my opinion.
