    The Mighty Hoos tomorrow.
Just a gnat to swat a side on the route to the ACC championship (assuming the refs, Swofford, WRAL or some other nefarious individual or organization doesn't get in the way).

Things have gotten mighty quiet since the championship celebration after the Notre Dame game. Very strange. I guess everybody is still in line trying to get Obama tickets.

Anyways, HUGE game Wednesday. Absolutely HUGE. No, not for standings - none of that really matters. A victory over the mighty Deacons means we have beaten a team that beat UNC! We can storm Hillsborough St. and thump our chests for weeks!

State always wins after losing this year in the ACC! Check it out!

Who's feeling the excitement and anticipation?

Or are you more looking forward to the women's game against FSU?

Come ON, peeps! I know Gott and the boys delivered us a record setting drubbing, but it's not all bad. Carolina is 0 - 3 in the ACC for goodness sake! Where's the enthusiasm?

From what I gather, the huge victory over Maryland apparently means State is on the rise, back, and starting to make some noise - Gottfried learned how to coach, and they finally learned how to play as a team.

Tomorrow's game should be a breeze, yes? Looking at the schedule, it's hard to see anyone standing in our way. Will we run the table? What say you?

    So, here we are:

Feb 11 - vs. Wake Forest, 7:00 PM
    Feb 15 - at Syracuse, 3:00 PM
    Feb 18 - at Clemson, 7:00 PM
Feb 22 - at Virginia Tech, 2:00 PM
Feb 26 - vs. North Carolina, 8:00 PM
    Mar 1 - vs. Miami-Florida, 12:00 PM
Mar 3 - at Pittsburgh, 9:00 PM Mar 9 - vs. Boston College, 6:00 PM

I'm thinking 5 wins and a win in the ACC tourney squeaks us into the dance. Trouble is, I'm not convinced this team can win 5 of those. Tonight's game is huge. VT and BC should be wins. Miami and Clemson should be doable. I'd like to think they could beat UNC at home, but after the big steaming pile of doo they laid over in Chapel Hill, I'm not convinced they can. Plus, we ARE State, so you can always count on them to stink it up when it matters most.

And does a 20 win season matter? Sure, you fringers would be able to thump your chests about three 20 win seasons by the great Plan Z Gottfried, but would a nice run in the NIT be more beneficial experience-wise than a first round boot from the big dance? What say you?

  • WolfPackFanInDaHouse Feb 11, 2014

The fact you're even contemplating that about a team that replaced its entire starting lineup... is a true testament to the coaches, and the heart with which this particular squad plays with.

I'd hesitate to "count them out", because they wouldn't listen anyway.

    :)

That's a mighty feat considering what that starting lineup accomplished, yes? And quite unexpected as well. I mean, it wasn't like the usual suspects were crowing about how much better this years TEAM would be because all the me-firsters were gone, was it?

If anyone was attempting to claim that this year's team would trump last years, they weren't Pack fans, but rather pansies (much like yourself) masquerading as Pack fans.

Unfortunately, this particular forum is chockful of said pansies.

I do not think we will have a choice regarding the NCAA or NIT. I do think we could win maybe 1st and 2nd round NIT and act like it means something. Go pack
