don't try to muddy the water, you and larry got trumped......NEXT!!!!

I would rather win more than I lose every time I step on the field....you deal with the hand you have earned, no matter what level.....your argument is weak, larry, and Wisconsin is no powerhouse.....they are in the big ten and have played in the rose bowl....they also play Indiana, iowa, Minnesota, purdue, northwestern, Illinois regularly.....I don't see much diff between that line-up and unc, NCSU, wake forest, duke, Virginia, boston college.....Wisconsin has had more success than NCSU in some ways, but not enough to make that big a difference
A cold, hard dose of Hans Jul 29, 10:35 a.m.
I take that back, SACy did... but that's... well, SACy.

I don't believe anyone said anything about not getting drafted.
sweet D Jul 29, 10:25 a.m.
Rivers and Glennon didn't need the big ten or a rose bowl appearance to get drafted, did they?....neither did a slew of other former Pack players, including a current Panthers starter......as the dmv lady told the geico pig, NEXT!!!!

So you would rather go 8-2 in the Tire bowl than go 2-8 playing in a BCS bowl game that's more meaningful against better competition? Yes or no?
sweet D Jul 29, 10:19 a.m.
the badgers are 3-6 in rose bowls, nothing to brag about(acc doesn't play in the rose bowl - not even fsu)....and the losing overall bowl record cant overcome a more prestigious bowl appearance....aamof, Wisconsin has been to plenty of lower level bowls...hall of fame(multiple times), champs(multiple times),independence(against duke), garden state, copper, sun, Alamo, music city....most pairings are between evenly matched(or level) teams, so your statement that lower level bowls equal more wins is just idiotic(someone has to lose, so its impossible).....your claim that easier access to bowls these days means anything is bull, also....both teams have equal access to bowls, regardless of how 'easy' it might be, and NCSU has been to more.....and when NCSU has gone, they win more than they lose, unlike wisconsin
what you said is leaving State helped RW's career dramatically, and you have no way to prove that statement....but, we do see 2 other former NCSU qb's in the nfl, along with many others, including 4 recent super bowl participants.....so it HAS BEEN proven that the nfl is just as aware of NCSU as they are wisconsin

Not that he was drafted in the first round, mind you.
A cold, hard dose of Hans Jul 29, 9:50 a.m.
I don't know. Seeing as how he would have held a clipboard for Mike "Unitas" Glennon, larry might have a point.
And really, you don't think playing at a big time program, winning a big time football conference's championship and playing in the Rose Bowl increases one's draft stock a bit?
larryssss080 Jul 29, 9:47 a.m.
Not once did I ever say RW would not have been drafted if he remained at State college. Never got into the drama or had an opinion about RW leaving State and the reasons behind it. Could care less about off the field BS.
As far as bowl games won, played in, etc........not sure just getting to a bowl game is or should be a bragging point for any college especially the mediocre ones teams in this area tend to.go to. All of our fanbases are guilty of this but when 50% + of teams get invited to bowls and half of those have .500 records it's really not that hard.
As far as comparing States overall bowl record to Wisconsins, when you constantly play in lower level bowls of course your overall record and wins should be higher. Wisconsin has played in 9 Rose Bowls and several other higher profile bowls. I think I would much prefer to have their history over any school in this State.
