the badgers are 3-6 in rose bowls, nothing to brag about(acc doesn't play in the rose bowl - not even fsu)....and the losing overall bowl record cant overcome a more prestigious bowl appearance....aamof, Wisconsin has been to plenty of lower level bowls...hall of fame(multiple times), champs(multiple times),independence(against duke), garden state, copper, sun, Alamo, music city....most pairings are between evenly matched(or level) teams, so your statement that lower level bowls equal more wins is just idiotic(someone has to lose, so its impossible).....your claim that easier access to bowls these days means anything is bull, also....both teams have equal access to bowls, regardless of how 'easy' it might be, and NCSU has been to more.....and when NCSU has gone, they win more than they lose, unlike wisconsin
what you said is leaving State helped RW's career dramatically, and you have no way to prove that statement....but, we do see 2 other former NCSU qb's in the nfl, along with many others, including 4 recent super bowl participants.....so it HAS BEEN proven that the nfl is just as aware of NCSU as they are wisconsin
A cold, hard dose of Hans Jul 29, 9:52 a.m.
Not that he was drafted in the first round, mind you.

I don't know. Seeing as how he would have held a clipboard for Mike "Unitas" Glennon, larry might have a point.
And really, you don't think playing at a big time program, winning a big time football conference's championship and playing in the Rose Bowl increases one's draft stock a bit?

Not once did I ever say RW would not have been drafted if he remained at State college. Never got into the drama or had an opinion about RW leaving State and the reasons behind it. Could care less about off the field BS.
As far as bowl games won, played in, etc........not sure just getting to a bowl game is or should be a bragging point for any college especially the mediocre ones teams in this area tend to.go to. All of our fanbases are guilty of this but when 50% + of teams get invited to bowls and half of those have .500 records it's really not that hard.
As far as comparing States overall bowl record to Wisconsins, when you constantly play in lower level bowls of course your overall record and wins should be higher. Wisconsin has played in 9 Rose Bowls and several other higher profile bowls. I think I would much prefer to have their history over any school in this State.

Oh boy! smittygirl will have a hard time sitting down for a week after that paddlin'
sweet D Jul 29, 9:09 a.m.
no proof of that......NCSU beat west va and geno smith(NY Jet starter) and finished top 25 in RW's last year, and unc homers have been telling us all along that TOB blew it cuz RW was gonna lead the Pack to even greater things his senior yr.....so, don't backtrack now, homer......RW was getting drafted from NCSU or Wiscy the 'powerhouse'........btw, have you ever looked up the badgers bowl record?....NCSU= more bowls than wiscy, and winning bowl record.....wiscy sports a losing bowl record, and less appearances than State......hmmmmmmm
W0lfpackfanindahizzy Jul 29, 8:29 a.m.
Link to him not being drafted had he stayed at NCSU..???
This ain't pastel pansy u, tiny.... This is BIG BOY football, capable of producing FIRST OVERALL and FIRST ROUND QBs.
Having NEVER produced a QB that went higher than the 3rd round has left pansy fans in the dark... Ref- what (exactly) it takes to make it to the NFL at the QB position.

RW was a 3rd team AA at Wisconsin. He had a stellar year in a football conference, played in a BCS bowl which in turn led to him being drafted in the first round. I would say leaving State college helped his career dramatically!

smitty is wrong all the way around.....with NCSU, RW won a bowl game(the year NCSU finished top 25, which butch "pre-season top 25" davis never did), without NCSU RW LOST a bowl game.....just falsehoods by the unc homer

This poor thing thinks Jimmy V WON something else... After or before leaving NC State that remotely compares to a National Championship...!!!
