So as long as you finish 7th in the conference, get swept by The Flagship, and beat a weak team in a Play-In game on TruTV that gives you a number 12 seed, the season is a "success"?

OhBoy. Way to set lofty goals, state college. Well done!

Year three of the Gottfried era, and this is what qualifies as "blowing past any realistic expectations of success". I'm not impressed.

When's the "Nothing but Gravy" banner going up? I'm picturing a Bo Time event with Scotty crooning and biscuits all over the place.

Sounds like they're just happy to be there. Not good.

Pretty good read if you're a State fan.

Mark Gottfried gathered his team around the NCAA logo at midcourt after a free-spirited practice on Wednesday at the sparkling Amway Center in downtown Orlando.

N.C. State was all smiles, from the team managers to star T.J. Warren to Gottfried, for the impromptu team photo. The snapshot is a nice keepsake, a digital postcard. If you look close enough at their faces you can see the pride of a season that has already crossed any realistic expectation of success. The moment was also symbolic of how Gottfried helped a young team find itself and a place in this NCAA tournament.
http://www.newsobserver.com/2014/03/19/3715802/gottfried-stays-positive-pushes.htmlThe bolded portion is for those who still try and troll the "I'm not impressed" card. This team has already blown past any realistic expectations of success and everything from Xavier forward is nothin' but gravy.
