Raleigh, N.C. — The Times Daily out of Florence, Alabama is reporting that former Louisiana State guard Ralston Turner has committed to NC State. The 6-6, 205 pound sophomore requested a transfer in May after a coaching change.
The new LSU head basketball coach Johnny Jones agreed to allow Turner to explore options of transferring as Turner had discussed with the former LSU coach Trent Johnson. Turner will be required to sit out the 2012-13 season and then will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Turner is from Muscle Shoals, AL and was recruited out of high school by Mark Gottfried while Gottfried was coaching at Alabama.
The sophomore average nine points and three rebounds a game during the 2011-12 Tigers season.
