Raleigh, N.C. — NC State junior guard Lorenzo Brown underwent surgery on his right Tuesday, which revealed a tear in the lateral meniscus.

Brown is expected to miss two-to-four weeks of summer workouts, but his playing status for the Wolfpack’s exhibition tour of Spain in August remains questionable. Slideshow Our lens on Lorenzo Brown

“My understanding is that surgery went well,” said head coach Mark Gottfried. “The injury was limited to the meniscus. This is temporary setback for Lorenzo. We will be conservative with what we do with Lorenzo moving forward.”

Brown helped the Pack to a 24-13 overall record (9-7 ACC) and its first Sweet Sixteen appearance since 2005. Brown earned All-ACC third team honors last season, handed out a team high 234 assists and averaged 12.7 points per game. More Info More NCSU Stories

Good for Mr Brown. Glad it well for him. But State is so LOADED this year it will not even matter.

State should have a good team next year, but they are hardly so loaded that losing Brown wouldn't matter. This is very good news for the Pack, and I agree with those who would like to see him take his time coming back. Lewis will need the reps, and that will pay off in March.
