Raleigh, N.C. — Veteran collegiate coach Larry Farmer has joined the NC State staff as Director of Player Development, Pack head coach Mark Gottfried announced Thursday.
Farmer’s responsibilities will include assisting with the evaluation of video, development of practice and game schedules, game planning and acting as the academic and community liaison.

“Larry is a proven winner and will add a great deal to our program,” Gottfried said. “His vast life experiences on and off the court will develop our student-athletes into well-rounded individuals. I’m looking forward to him working with our players and staff in a variety of roles.”
Farmer played for legendary coach John Wooden at UCLA from 1970-73, where he helped the Bruins capture three NCAA titles during a stretch in which UCLA won seven straight national championships. During his college career, Farmer helped UCLA to an impressive 90-1 mark.
In 12 seasons as a collegiate head coach, Farmer amassed 166 victories in stints at UCLA (1981-84), Weber State (1985-88) and Loyola-Chicago (1998-2004). During his time at the helm of the Bruin program, he guided his alma mater to a three-year mark of 61-23, including a pair of 20-win campaigns and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. In 1982-83, he led UCLA to a 23-6 mark, the Pac-10 title and the No. 7 final ranking.
Farmer spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach at Western Michigan. Prior to joining the Broncos staff, he spent three years on the bench at the University of Hawai’i.

How is it you're ALWAYS the first, literally FIRST, person to post on these stories?

If you'd think real hard about it you would figure that out.. just acting like State fans did when UNC was being investigated - funny that you didn't ask that same question of your own back then

WAS being investigated? You can't swing a cat in Chapel Hill without hitting somebody investigating them right now, including their own faculty. I think that's significantly more newsworthy than an assistant coaching hire at NCSU, but hey, everybody's entitled to their own opinion.

State fans want to believe that however the NCAA investigation is over and they were sent the internal report that UNC conducted about academics- UNC also sent the report to SACs (look it up) and after a few questions and responses to SACs inqiuries - SACs gave UNC the highest score it could while accrediting them for 10 years.
The long and the short of it that UNC continues down the road of fixing the problems that existed there - that is all I can expect as a fan.
State fans have taken the opportunity to just drivel nonsense, introduce inflaming hypothetical situations/questions (tbk's speciality). It is State time to pile on - go for it

The latest in a string of newsworthy reports was released yesterday by UNC-CH's own faculty. Had UNC-CH been on any sort of path that even closely resembled "fixing the problems that existed there" the faculty report would have never been necessary. Indeed, one of the biggest problems wasn't even fixed, it retired at the citizens' expense.

Great addition to an already stacked coaching staff.

While the CHeaters are throwing around insults, lets all recall that their mental case Ol' Roy was a cheater before he even arrived at CHeater Hill:
