Playing its second game in as many days against Spanish team CB Torrejon, the NC State men’s basketball team showed marked improvement on both ends of the floor Wednesday evening in a 80-57 exhibition game victory.
Led by junior Lorenzo Brown’s 17 points and 10 assists, the Wolfpack was more composed than in Tuesday’s 83-76 opening victory and much more acclimated to both the warm weather and the European style of play.
“Even though we played yesterday, we seemed fresher today,” said Wolfpack head coach Mark Gottfried. “They really gave us trouble in the first game, but today our guys got down the floor and contained the ball much better.
“Our defense, especially early in the game, was much better.”
The Pack opened up a quick 25-14 lead in the first period and owned a 42-27 lead at intermission.
Four Wolfpack players scored in double figures, led by the recuperating Brown, who had knee surgery in early July, but has been the team’s leader in the first two contests of the five-game exhibition tour.
Senior Scott Wood had 15 points, while junior C.J. Leslie and sophomore Thomas DeThaey added 11 each.
Senior Richard Howell was strong inside, posting a team-high 12 rebounds along with eight points. And significantly, he had no fouls in the contest. Leslie posted a double-double, adding 10 rebounds to go with his scoring. The Wolfpack will take a day off on Thursday and fly to the Canary Islands, where the will prepare for three games in four days.
Friday’s and Sunday’s games will also be broadcast on HD radio at 99.9 The Ticket and at WRALsportsfan.com. Both are slated to begin at noon (EST).

Here's the solution - if you're not a Pack fan - they stay off the posts about the Pack. Wow - what a concept!
I couldn't give a rats behind about unc - and 95% of the time, I leave those alone just for that reason. I invite all you non-NC State fans to do the same.
Great game by the Pack yesteday! This trip is about chemistry more than anything. Work the kinks out now, and come out ready to take care of business when the seaosn starts. What a great opportunity for these guys!
I'm gonna put what could be a bold prediction out there: Lo Brown will be a POY candidate.

State travels thousands of miles to play, they are missing one of their star players, another is recovering from injury, they win by 23, and what do we get? Complaints about ACC officials being "out to get us".
State fans aren't stereotyped as paranoid whiners for nothing. These comments just add fuel to the fire.

I'm as true a State fan as anyone and I cringe at the comments you are referring to. Don't put us all in that box.

thx my man, Ken musta missed your positive post, which happened to be the first comment posted...he was searching for the negative ones, so he could fuel his fire for his attack on Pack nation

Not sure how you see my comments as an attack on "Pack Nation". I was being critical of fans who obsess about their negative feelings instead of applauding their team's successes. It took all of three posts for that to happen on this blog.
Unless you view those posters as typical Pack fans, or representative of "Pack Nation", I would think genuine State fans would be as critical of them as I am. They are just perpetuating negative stereotypes about State fans.

and you appear to have a pattern also, Ken...you focus on the negative posts and attempt to generalize Pack fans based on these, and, curiously, do not give equal commentary on the positive comments made about the Pack...why is that?
