Raleigh, N.C. — NCSU police Lt. John Barnwell said there were 62 total incidents stemming from Saturday’s rivalry match between N.C. State and East Carolina.
Forty-eight fans in all were ejected from the stadium and 14 more were ejected from the parking lot. However, Barnwell said things were pretty docile as far as rivalry games go.
“[The number of incidents] is not high for a rivalry,” Barnwell said. “It’s right in the norm for an ECU or UNC game.”
Only eight people were arrested out of the 57,583 that attended. According to Barnwell, four or five of them were assaults in the parking lot while another two or three people were arrested for trying to rush the field.
