NC State held Clemson well below its 81 point average, but the Wolfpack's offensive woes prevented the Wolfpack from mounting any real threat against the Tigers. State shot just 31% as Clemson won 63-51-the Tigers 15th straight home win.
Trevor Booker dominated inside for Clemson. Booker poured in 23 points, adding six rebounds and six blocks, as Clemson pulled away from a 33-33 tie. K. C. Rivers added 11 points with nine rebounds. Courtney Fells was the only State played in double figures. Fells scored ten points.
The win moves Clemson at 2-0, into first place in the Atlantic Coast Conference. For State, this was the conference opener. The Wolfpack is 0-1 in the ACC and 9-5 overall.
