Stephanie Glance is still eyeing a return to the sidelines.
The longtime assistant who led the North Carolina State women's basketball program after the death of Kay Yow is currently continuing her work with the charity that bears her mentor's name.
Glance became president of the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund when Marsha Sharp was officially announced as the first executive director of the entity in May of 2009. At that point, Glance's role with the group changed from vice president to president.
"I still want to coach," Glance said during a phone call with WRAL's Jeff Gravley Monday afternoon. "I would like to be a head coach but wouldn't be opposed to being an assistant coach in the right situation."
Glance spent 15 years as an assistant to Yow, the Hall of Fame coach who died in January after a long fight against cancer. Glance led the program as an interim coach both when Yow stepped away for treatments in recent years and after Yow took leave a few weeks before her death.
She applied to be Yow's successor, but the school hired Western Carolina coach and former Tennessee point guard Kellie Harper in April.
Great for Glance. Wonder if she is coaching?- Posted by Hokie 94
