Running back Jamelle Eugene and tackle Jake Vermiglio are not listed on the N.C. State depth chart for the Pittsburgh game, which was released by the school Monday afternoon.

Eugene (knee) and Vermiglio (leg) both missed the win over Gardner-Webb on Saturday night.

Receiver Owen Spencer is out with what coach Tom O'Brien described as a head injury.

State plays powerful Pittsburgh on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Carter-Finley Stadium.

Wolfpack coach Tom O'Brien is growing weary of mounting injuries.

"I'm tired of building depth," O'Brien said Monday.

Just wish we could get more positive press from WRAL. 13 stories on UNC since 9/18 vs. 6 for NC State....no WRAL bias??

RE: Eugene, Vermiglio not listed on N.C. State two-deep

Before the season, I only said Carolina was unproven on offense, particularly the passing game, and the offensive line. I didn't say they wouldn't or couldn't improve. I even said there was a time that Hakeem Nicks was not a star, and that maybe someone unexpected would step up and be the star receiver. Nicks had to step up and become one at some point, and did. Highsmith may be doing just that.

I still think Carolina is about as good as I expected, maybe a LITTLE better. But they looked horrible against UConn. UConn found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in that game. And beating ECU didn't really prove much, either.

I was totally wrong about ECU and GT, though. I bought into Tech's preseason hype. I didn't realize how lacking their passing game was. I began predicting as early as their win over Clemson that I thought Carolina would probably beat them. Even in their win over Clemson, I could tell their scores were flukes and that Clemson should have buried them. And ECU, who had any idea they would be this bad? I was wrong about them.

And the jury is still out on Carolina. They've played 2 FBS teams, but they were very low-quality FBS teams.

I still say anyone that thinks Carolina will finish 9-3 or 10-2 is smoking crack. Especially if you thought that before the season started.

State vs Pitt is a pick and Ga Tech is favored 2.5 over UNC.

Take Carolina and the points ALL DAY LONG. Carolina wins this one by two scores, at least. Tech is awful. They have NO passing game. Carolina's defense is going to pin their ears back and put them down.

RE: Predict UNC's football record for the upcoming season

Duke beats Carolina this year. It's nearly a lock.

So does ECU.

And the other locks (VT, GT and NCSU).

Whoever predicted 9-3 or 10-2 for Carolina is smoking some serious weed.

^^^TBK tells it like he sees it, and if he's wrong about something, he's classy enough to admit it. I don't think TBK has trouble with school colors; it's the obnoxious fans that he reacts to.

"State plays powerful Pittsburgh on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Carter-Finley Stadium."

Powerful???

LOL, I thought the same thing!

The same "powerful" Pittsburgh that gave up 500 yards of offense to Buffalo???

The writer must've thought NCSU was playing the Steelers.

Good one, Kenny!

btw, you were right about Carolina's receivers and offense. They're going to be just fine this year. (But don't tell anybody else I've been bantering with on here...)

At least you can admit it TBK! Some people on here can't see past the school colors to see the actual truth!!
