Russell Wilson signs endorsement deal with Raleigh-based firm

Posted April 26, 2012

— Former North Carolina State University and University of Wisconsin quarterback Russell Wilson has signed French/West/Vaughan as his marketing, public relations and endorsements agency, the Raleigh-based company announced Thursday.

In a press release, the marketing company also announced that Wilson signed an endorsement deal with Nike Tuesday.

"Russell has impressed us from the moment we first saw him play as a freshman at N.C. State, and we have been fans ever since," agency chairman and CEO Rick French said in a statement.

"We are convinced Russell is going to be an outstanding player in the NFL and, more importantly, we know he is a man of great character and a great role model. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to help him achieve his on-field and off-field goals throughout his NFL career.”

FWV also represents current NFL players Michael Vick, Arian Foster and Glover Quin along with Olympic hopeful Jessica Hardy, a swimmer.

Wilson, who spent three seasons at N.C. State before transferring to Wisconsin, said he's looking forward to working with FWV.

"Throughout this search, I have been looking for an agency that truly understands my interests and aspirations and has the capability to help me manage my off-field endeavors so I can concentrate on being the best football player I can be," Wilson said.

With the heart and mind this young man has, he cannot fail no matter what he chooses in life.

Best wishes to the Wilson family.

    Go Pack

Congratulations to Russell! I have herd a lot of football insiders say a lot of nice things about him, his attitude/work ethic and his ability! I look forward to seeing him on TV playing on Sunday!

Unfortunately he couldn't stick with The Pack but his leaving is certainly understandable. It was fun to watch him play and I'm hoping he lands a nice NFL contract and that he'll do more than warm some bench somewhere... look what happened to Tebow (sometimes all is needed is an opportunity)! Go for it young man!

Wilson is a great young man. I too would love to see him play on Sundays. He is as solid as anyone that I have read or heard about. His future is bright.
