The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting Torry Holt, a seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, has asked for his release from the Rams. This according to league sources.
Holt is due a $1.25 million dollar roster bonus on March 17, and has reportedly been on the trading block with no takers.
Holt, who hails from Gibsonville, North Carolina, told WRAL-TV's Jason Jennings at last year's Holt Brothers annual golf classic that he would love to play for the Carolina Panthers.
The 32-year old former N.C. State All-American has 869 career catches and 12,660 receiving yards with 74 touchdowns in his 10 seasons in NFL, all with the Rams.
