Insight: Hornqvist has been the very definition of hot and cold this season. Not only was he riding this goal streak, but he also preceded that streak by playing his first seven games without recording even a single point.

Insight: Hornqvist has now reached 20 goals in back-to-back seasons, although there is no way that he will reach 30 goals like he did last season. With the win, the Predators officially clinch a playoff spot. With another win on Saturday against St. Louis, the Predators have a chance at home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

Description: Patric Hornqvist was fined $2,500 but not suspended for his elbow to the head of Tyler Seguin during Thursday's game. TSN
Insight: Seguin did not receive a concussion, but he needed seven stitches in his ear before returning to the game. Hornqvist received a five-minute major and a game misconduct for the elbow. By giving Hornqvist a slap on the wrist for this act, the NHL doesn't seem to be deterring hits to the head in spite of giving the topic further study at the GM meetings earlier this week.
