Description: Blues goaltender Martin Brodeur is taking a one-week leave of absence from the St. Louis Blues according to Blues.nhl.com.
Insight: Brodeur has been up-and-down since joining the Blues. He is 3-3-0 with a 2.87 GAA and .899 save percentage. With Brian Elliott back and Jake Allen as the backup, there is a good chance Brodeur is done in St. Louis.

12/29/2014 10:31:00 PM
Description: Blues goaltender Martin Brodeur recorded a shutout on Monday.
Insight: With starter Jake Allen struggling, this should only increase the controversy in net for St. Louis. In his last 88 minutes, Brodeur has not allowed a single goal. If owners need help at goalie, Brodeur is worth the gamble.

12/8/2014 10:38:00 PM
Description: Blues goaltender Martin Brodeur won his second game in his new home on Monday.
Insight: Brodeur stopped 32-of-34 shots to improve to 2-0-0 this season. Since Jake Allen has struggled so much since Brian Elliott went down with his injury, don't be surprised if Brodeur continues to see playing time.

12/6/2014 3:53:00 PM
Description: Backup goaltender Martin Brodeur replaced a rattled Jake Allen after the first period and led the Blues to victory on Saturday.
Insight: Brodeur added to one more victory to his win total, 689, which is already the most all-time. After Allen allowed three goals on 12 shots in the first period, Brodeur yielded just one goal on 15 shots the last two periods. It also helped St. Louis scored six goals over the final 40 minutes. Things are starting to get interesting in net for the Blues.

12/2/2014 1:56:00 PM
Description: Veteran goaltender Martin Brodeur has signed a deal with the St. Louis Blues.
Insight: The Blues were in need of goaltending help after Brian Elliott suffered a lower body injury. Brodeur has 688 career wins, 394 losses and a 2.24 GAA. The 42-year-old will backup Jake Allen.

Insight: All good things must come to an end. Assuming Brodeur has played his final game for the Devils, he'll finish his New Jersey career with 688 wins, 394 losses and a 2.24 GAA. The 42-year-old is likely to be a backup wherever he plays next season.

Description: Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur blasted the quality of the ice at Yankee Stadium, where New Jersey lost to the New York Rangers Sunday afternoon. "... It was the worst ice I ever played hockey on," he said. SOURCE: espnny.com
Insight: The game was delayed for over an hour to due sun glare on the ice. Perhaps Brodeur was just venting his frustration after allowing six goals on 21 shots to the rival Rangers. The 41-year-old netminder is 13-11-4 with a 2.52 GAA and an .899 SV% this season.

Description: Even though his contract with New Jersey is up at the end of the year, Martin Brodeur believes he'll play at least one more season. SOURCE: The Bergen Record
Insight: Brodeur admitted that he'd consider leaving the Devils if another team offered him a contract. The 41-year-old has played well this season (12-9-4, 2.39 GAA, .902 SV%) but it seems like the team would prefer to use the equally-talented Cory Schneider (7-9-5, 1.97 GAA, .921 SV%) going forward.

12/14/2013 9:53:00 PM
Description: Devils goalie Martin Brodeur stopped all 33 shots he faced Saturday against the Lightning.
Insight: Brodeur was on a cold streak, giving up 15 goals in his previous four starts. He now has three shutouts this season.

12/7/2013 2:33:00 PM
Description: Devils goalie Martin Brodeur will start Saturday at MSG against the Rangers.
Insight: In 99 career games against the New York Rangers, Brodeur is 48-30-20 with a 2.13 GAA, a .918 SV% and nine shutouts. He's in a 50-50 split with Cory Schneider in the Devils net.

Hot11/27/2013 6:35:00 PM

Insight: Brodeur will be making his 11th start in New Jersey's last 15 games. He has gone 5-3-0 with a 1.38 GAA and a .944 SV% in November.

Hot11/23/2013 2:50:00 PM
Description: Devils goalie Martin Brodeur will defend the net Saturday at San Jose.
Insight: Brodeur started off slow and looked to be clearly behind Cory Schneider on the depth chart but he's been absolutely on fire. He has won seven of his eight appearances since Oct. 26 and is back in a 50-50 split with Schneider.

Hot11/16/2013 9:32:00 PM
Description: Devils goalie Martin Brodeur turned aside 27 of the 28 shots Pittsburgh sent at him in a 4-1 win Saturday night.
Insight: Brodeur started off slow and looked to be clearly behind Cory Schneider on the depth chart but he's been absolutely on fire since his last start of October. Over his last six games, Brodeur is 5-1 with a 0.84 GAA, a .964 SV% and two shutouts. The Devils goaltending situation should continue to be a 50-50 split.

11/12/2013 6:33:00 PM
Description: Devils goalie Martin Brodeur will make his second straight start Tuesday against the Rangers.
Insight: Brodeur has picked up a shutout in each of his last two starts and is now 4-3-2 with a 2.09 GAA this season.

11/7/2013 9:34:00 PM
Description: Devils goalie Martin Brodeur picked up his 122nd career shutout Thursday against Philadelphia.
Insight: Brodeur has given up just two goals in his last three starts, two of which came against the punchless Flyers. He's likely earned himself a 50-50 timeshare with Cory Schneider going forward.

11/7/2013 6:05:00 PM
Description: The Devils will start Martin Brodeur in the crease Thursday at Philadelphia.
Insight: Brodeur played well his last two starts, allowing two goals on 38 shots. He gave up one goal to this Flyers team Saturday.

10/29/2013 10:41:00 PM
Description: Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur picked up his second straight win Tuesday against the Lightning.
Insight: Brodeur had to make just 16 saves in a 2-1 victory. He entered the game with a 1-2-2 record, a 3.32 GAA and an .871 SV% in his first five games. The 41-year-old will continue to start with Cory Schneider currently on injured reserve.

10/26/2013 12:23:00 PM
Description: Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur will start Saturday at Boston.
Insight: Brodeur has had a miserable start to the season, going 0-2-2 with a 3.40 GAA and an .865 SV%. He admitted this week that Cory Schneider is now the No. 1 netminder in New Jersey, but we can't see the Devils taking their future Hall of Famer out of the goalie rotation entirely. A 70-30 split is likely if Schneider keeps playing well.

10/23/2013 9:11:00 PM
Description: Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur said that Cory Schneider is "in the net now to stay." "I don’t see that’s going to be changed any time soon," Brodeur said. "I’ll be ready if it is, but I think we’ve got to try to win some games somehow. This is what (coach Pete DeBoer) feels is the best opportunity for him to be successful is having (Schneider) in the net and that’s fine. If we win, everybody’s happy. Even though I don’t play, it’s more enjoyable to be around." SOURCE: Bergen Record
Insight: Schneider has a 2.21 GAA and a .917 SV% in five games, while Brodeur has played four games and owns a 3.40 GAA and an .865 SV%. The Devils aren't going to completely stop playing the 41-year-old future Hall of Famer, but we could see a 70-30 split in the starts going forward.

10/11/2013 5:40:00 PM
Description: New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur will start Friday at Calgary.
Insight: Brodeur and Cory Schneider have started two games apiece and both have a SV% below .900. They should both turn it around soon.
