Insight: Souray has some offensive skills and could have been useful down the stretch. He totaled 17 points with a +19 rating in 44 2012 games and has scored as many as 64 points in a season. Add in his PIM and he's a solid fantasy option ... for next season.

Insight: The injury makes him un-draftable at this point. he's had some very good seasons on the blueline, particularly from 2005-08, but at this point in time his offense is limited and now with the injury he likely won't be ready until the beginning of the year.

Insight: Souray will likely continue to toil in the AHL, where NHL scouts recently went to watch him but were reportedly not overwhelmed by his play. Souray has one year left on his contract after this season, so expect the Oilers to buy out his contract over the summer. There is absolutely no point in making him a speculative add to your roster.

Insight: Souray is much more likely to be claimed off waivers, now that the Oilers will still have to cover half of his remaining salary. We'll find out sometime tomorrow if another team decides to take a risk and add him.

Insight: The Rangers sent scouts to watch Souray play for the Hershey Bears of the AHL over the weekend. The scouts felt that Souray's foot speed was too slow for their team, although he still has a good shot. It remains to be seen whether any other teams are interested in Souray, who the Oilers have been trying to get rid of all season.

Insight: Souray has been playing the entire season for the Hershey Bears of the AHL, since Oilers management doesn't want him on the team after he requested a trade. The Rangers would receive Souray provided no other teams below them in the standings claim him as well. Check back for further updates.

Insight: Souray also broke his hand in a fight with Jarome Iginla last season, so maybe he should avoid fighting altogether? Regardless, Souray is toiling in the AHL right now, so there is absolutely no reason that he should be on your fantasy roster anyway.

It should be safe to look for other options for your fantasy blueline if you drafted Souray.
