Description: Wild right wing Dany Heatley scored one of Minnesota's two goals in a loss to Pittsburgh Thursday.
Insight: Heatley said in the offseason he'd be disappointed if he didn't get at least 30 goals after picking up 11 in 36 games last season. The 32-year-old has just seven goals and 11 points in 37 games so far. He's also a -9 and is not worth owning.

9/13/2013 11:54:00 AM
Description: Minnesota Wild right wing Dany Heatley, who underwent successful for a torn labrum on April 8, has said he's expecting at least 30 goals this season.
Insight: "I'd be very disappointed if I didn't get 30 at least," he told the Minneapolis-St. Paul Star-Tribune. It's been since 2009-10 that Heatley cracked the 30-goal mark, so this would be a nice target to shoot for. Back in 2005-06 and 2006-07, Heatley posted 50 goals and put up more than 100 points with Ottawa so we know he has the talent to achieve the number.

4/30/2013 10:20:00 AM
Description: Wild right wing Dany Heatley underwent successful shoulder surgery on April 8 and missed the remainder of the regular season, but has not ruled himself out for returning sometime in the playoffs.
Insight: We don't think he'll try to come back until next season, but all he would say when asked was that his shoulder "is feeling good."

4/9/2013 8:53:00 PM
Description: Wild right wing Dany Heatley will miss the rest of the season after undergoing successful shoulder surgery Tuesday, the team announced. SOURCE: NHL.com
Insight: Heatley hurt his shoulder on April 3 falling awkwardly on the ice while fighting with Marc-Edouard Vlasic of the Sharks after Vlasic cross-checked Heatley after the final buzzer. The team said Heatley should be ready for the start of the 2013-14 season.

4/4/2013 11:45:00 AM
Description: Wild right wing Dany Heatley injured his arm late in Wednesday's loss to San Jose.
Insight: Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune is hearing that the injury should sideline Heatley "for a while." Fantasy owners might want to think about hitting the waiver wire for a replacement.

Cold2/24/2013 11:35:00 AM
Description: Minnesota winger Dany Heatley was dropped from the first to the third line Saturday and posted a minus-3 against Calgary. SOURCE: Star Tribune
Insight: Heatley only has one goal and three points over his last 12 games. Minnesota ranks 29th in the NHL with 2.06 goals per game despite inking Zach Parise and Ryan Suter to massive contracts last summer.

2/17/2013 9:03:00 PM
Description: Minnesota winger Dany Heatley lit the lamp for the fifth time this season Sunday against the Red Wings.
Insight: Heatley had four goals in the first five games but he hadn't had one since. In fact, he went without a point in eight straight before tallying two assists Thursday. With two SOG Sunday, Heatley is on pace for just 169 SOG per 82 games; the winger has taken at least 202 shots in nine of his 10 seasons and at least 217 in seven straight.

Hot1/22/2013 10:44:00 PM
Description: Minnesota winger Dany Heatley has scored three goals on 14 shots in the first three games this season.
Insight: Heatley got one past the goaltender Tuesday against the Predators after scoring twice in the season opener. The winger's goals have slipped from his days of scoring 40-50, but he is still a serviceable fantasy option.

1/20/2013 11:06:00 AM
Description: Wild left wing Dany Heatley struck twice in a season-opening win over the Avalanche on Saturday.
Insight: Minnesota is expected to be much improved this season thanks to the additions of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter in the offseason. If Heatley can return to the form that made him a perennial 40-goal scorer earlier in his career, this team is really going to be tough to stop.

9/24/2011 11:18:00 AM
Description: Dany Heatley scored two goals, including the overtime winner, in the Wild's 4-3 win over Columbus in Friday's preseason game. TSN
Insight: Heatley played on a line with former Sharks teammate Devin Setoguchi and Mikko Koivu in this game. That line should be the Wild's first line this season, but the Wild don't possess much scoring after that. Heatley's value has dropped during his two seasons in San Jose, so he will be looking to return to his old form with a new team.

7/3/2011 11:52:00 PM
Description: The San Jose Sharks have traded Dany Heatley to the Minnesota Wild for Martin Havlat. TSN
Insight: Heatley became an overpaid player with the Sharks last season, earning $7.5 million against the cap while scoring just 64 points (28g-38a) last season. Heatley looked especially ineffective during the playoffs, scoring just three goals and nine points in 18 games. He will need to find chemistry with Mikko Koivu in Minnesota; otherwise, his point totals won't improve.

5/26/2011 3:00:00 PM
Description: Dany Heatley suffered a broken hand late in the regular season, then twisted his ankle during Game 3 of the Western Conference Final. CSN Bay Area
Insight: Heatley scored just three goals and nine points in 18 playoff games - not the type of production you'd expect from a player of his caliber. If players like Heatley, Joe Thornton, and Ryane Clowe were healthier during the playoffs, perhaps the Sharks would have had better luck against Vancouver.

3/23/2011 2:42:00 PM
Description: Dany Heatley has finished serving his two-game suspension and will be in the Sharks' lineup on Wednesday. Sportsnet
Insight: Just a friendly reminder for you to make sure he's back in your lineup.

3/16/2011 9:04:00 PM
Description: Heatley has been suspended two games for Tuesday night's elbow to the head of Dallas' Steve Ott.
Insight: Heatley's first game back is due to be March 23 against Calgary. (RapidDraft.com)

3/16/2011 6:13:00 PM
Description: Dany Heatley has been suspended two games for his hit to the head of Steve Ott during Tuesday's game. TSN
Insight: Heatley hit Ott away from the play with his forearm and was assessed only a two-minute penalty on the play. With Heatley suspended and Brad Marchand likely facing suspension, the league's recent policy changes regarding headshots seem to be accomplishing very little. Heatley is expected to sit out Thursday's game against Minnesota and Saturday's game against St. Louis, so keep him on your bench for the remainder of the week.

3/16/2011 11:43:00 AM
Description: Dany Heatley could be suspended for his elbow on Steve Ott during Tuesday's game. TSN
Insight: The Stars/Sharks game on Tuesday was a very chippy one, with Loui Eriksson also leaving the game after a questionable headshot from Douglas Murray. Heatley owners have to be hoping that he will escape suspension during this important time of the season.

3/4/2011 1:53:00 AM
Description: Dany Heatley scored two goals in the Sharks' 3-1 win over Detroit on Thursday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: Heatley has now scored 22 goals this season, meaning that he isn't necessarily a shoo-in to reach 30 goals as he has in each of the last five seasons. In fact, he had scored just one goal in his last 12 games prior to Thursday. This season Heatley has been a good fantasy option, but not a great one.

1/4/2011 8:03:00 AM
Description: Heatley recorded two assists on Sunday night in a loss to the Kings.
Insight: Heatley has five points in his last four games with a goal and four assists over that span. (RapidDraft.com)

12/17/2010 8:05:00 AM
Description: Heatley picked up an assist on Thursday night against the Stars.
Insight: Heatley has points in back-to-back games as he now has 14 goals and 17 assists in 32 games so far this year. (RapidDraft.com)

12/3/2010 12:36:00 AM
Description: Dany Heatley recorded one assist in the Sharks' 4-0 win over Ottawa on Thursday. TSN
Insight: Heatley was making his much-hyped first game in Ottawa since demanding a trade from the Senators in 2009. He was booed by everyone when he stepped on the ice, and he listened to choruses of "Heatley sucks" and "traitor" throughout the game. He had several scoring chances during the game, but he was only able to assist on Justin Braun's first NHL goal.
