NHL Game Summary - Nashville at Pittsburgh

(Friday, November 15th)

Final Score: Pittsburgh 4, Nashville 1

Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Brandon Sutter and James Neal each posted a goal and one assist in Pittsburgh's 4-1 triumph over Nashville at CONSOL Energy Center.

Pascal Dupuis and Kris Letang added scores, while Evgeni Malkin picked up two helpers for the Penguins, who put a three-game losing streak to rest.

Marc-Andre Fleury claimed the victory thanks to 17 saves.

Gabriel Bourque registered the lone offense for the Predators, who dropped four in a row to complete a 2-4-1 road trip.

"There's a group of guys in there that have to give us more, plain and simple. We have too many guys that when it gets tough, they're feeling sorry for themselves. Well, I don't feel sorry for anybody right now," said Predators coach Barry Trotz.

Marek Mazanec allowed four goals on 25 shots through two periods. Carter Hutton finished with eight stops in the third.

Letang provided a two-goal margin for the hosts just shy of the eight-minute mark of the second on a shot from behind the goal line that trickled from Mazanec's pads, and the Pens led by a 4-1 margin on Sutter's successful shot with 1:23 remaining that resulted from a Jussi Jokinen drop pass on the left wing.

Hutton spelled Mazanec for the third and managed to keep the margin at three goals, but his club couldn't solve Fleury in the final 20 minutes. The Preds threw only nine shots on net in the final two periods, including three in the third.

Things started off better for the visitors as Nashville picked up the game's first goal only 2:28 after the opening faceoff. Kevin Klein's right-point blast knuckled after hitting Malkin's stick, then another Pens defender, and ticked off Bourque's blade before sliding through Fleury's pads.

Pittsburgh equalized with 7:24 left after failing to click on the advantage, with Sutter winning a left-circle draw back for a blistering one-timer from Dupuis.

Neal made it 2-1 on a deflection of Malkin's point blast just prior to four minutes remaining in the first.

"Malkin made a good play on the power play there to shoot for my stick," Neal said. "Ever since I've got back, I've felt really good." Game Notes

The Penguins have won each of the last three meetings since Oct. 21, 2010 and four of the last six since February of 2007 ... Both teams are in action on Saturday, as Pittsburgh heads to New Jersey and Nashville welcomes Chicago ... The Pens totaled just three goals during their losing streak.
