Description: St. Louis center Maxim Lapierre has been handed a five-game ban for his hit on Sharks defenseman Dan Boyle earlier in the week. SOURCE: NHL.com
Insight: Lapierre has already sat out two games, which means he'll be eligible to return November 1st against the Panthers. Lapierre has only been getting about nine and a half minutes of ice time a game, which isn't enough playing time for fantasy owners to rely on him.

10/18/2013 10:10:00 AM
Description: Blues forward Maxim Lapierre is expected to miss Friday's game against Winnipeg. He did not play Thursday.
Insight: Lapierre will meet with the NHL after his hit on San Jose's Dan Boyle. He's scoreless in five games, so he has no fantasy value.

10/17/2013 2:04:00 PM
Description: Blues forward Maxim Lapierre is doubtful for Thursday's game against Chicago.
Insight: Lapierre will meet with the NHL after his hit on San Jose's Dan Boyle. He's scoreless in five games, so has no fantasy value.

1/14/2013 3:05:00 PM
Description: St. Louis center Maxim Lapierre has been placed on injured reserve with a lower body injury.
Insight: Lapierre only has six goals and three assists this season, so has little fantasy value. He's never posted more than 28 points in a season.

6/27/2011 9:44:00 PM
Description: The Vancouver Canucks have signed forward Maxim Lapierre to a two-year contract worth $2 million. TSN
Insight: Lapierre was valuable to the Canucks during the playoffs for his ability to get under the other team's skin. He will likely play on the Canucks' third or fourth line and doesn't hold a lot of fantasy value.

6/11/2011 1:01:00 AM
Description: Maxim Lapierre scored Game 5's only goal in the third period of the Canucks' 1-0 win over Boston on Friday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: The goal was just Lapierre's second goal of the playoffs. He has had much more value getting under the skin of other teams, especially the Bruins. He was also at his theatrical best in this game, embellishing a Zdeno Chara stick tap late in the first period.

6/6/2011 3:00:00 PM
Description: Bruins coach Claude Julien told reporters on Monday that Maxim Lapierre made a "mockery of the sport" by taunting Patrice Bergeron during Game 2. TSN
Insight: Lapierre placed his finger in front of Bergeron in a gesture mocking Bergeron's allegations that Alex Burrows bit his glove during Game 1. The Canucks have been advised to avoid stirring the pot any further regarding the finger incident, although Lapierre's job description usually includes annoying the other team.

12/31/2010 7:44:00 PM
Description: The Montreal Canadiens have traded forward Maxim Lapierre to the Anaheim Ducks for defenseman Brett Festerling and a 2012 fifth-round pick. TSN
Insight: Lapierre has eight points (5g-3a) with a (-7) in 38 games this season. He should provide grit to the Ducks, although he's not much of a fantasy option. Festerling, meanwhile, will likely be sent to Hamilton of the AHL.

12/3/2010 8:01:00 AM
Description: Lapierre picked up an assist on Thursday night against the Devils.
Insight: Lapierre had gone five games without a point and now has four goals and two assists on the year. (RapidDraft.com)

11/23/2010 8:03:00 AM
Description: Lapierre scored two goals on Monday night in a loss to the Flyers.
Insight: Lapierre now has three goals over his last five games to give him four goals and an assist on the year over a 21 game span. (RapidDraft.com)

10/14/2010 8:05:00 AM
Description: Lapierre scored his first goal of the season on Wednesday against the Lightning.
