Insight: There's been no word of an injury for Sergei Bobrovsky, so it's likely the team is just giving the 2012-13 Vezina Trophy winner some extra rest after pulling him Friday at Pittsburgh. The 30-year-old McElhinney is 1-1-0 with a 1.55 GAA and a .949 SV% in three games (two starts) this season.

Insight: McElhinney was acquired just days ago from the Anaheim Ducks for Dan Ellis. He will probably serve as Craig Anderson's backup. Senators GM Bryan Murray said recently that Pascal Leclaire would likely spend some time in the AHL unless he was claimed off waivers (which he wasn't), so Leclaire probably won't factor into the goaltending mix for now.

Insight: McElhinney posted his second shutout of both the season and his career. He was filling in for the fatigued Jonas Hiller, who did not dress for this game. The Ducks don't play again until Wednesday, so don't be surprised to see Hiller back between the pipes despite McElhinney's great performance.
