Description: Blue Jackets goalie Curtis McElhinney left Thursday's game after suffering a lower body injury in the first period. SOURCE: Katie Strang, ESPN
Insight: Mike McKenna filled in for him and got the win, his fifth of the season. If McElhinney can't go Saturday against St. Louis, McKenna would get another start between the pipes.

12/6/2013 9:38:00 PM
Description: Columbus goaltender Curtis McElhinney picked up his third career shutout Friday against Minnesota.
Insight: The journeyman netminder was pushed into starting duty following Sergei Bobrovsky's groin injury. He's 2-3-1 with a 2.02 GAA and a .932 SV% this season but isn't likely to maintain his production.

11/30/2013 6:07:00 PM
Description: Columbus backup goaltender Curtis McElhinney will defend the cage Saturday at Boston.
Insight: McElhinney is playing his first game since Nov. 19. He's 1-2-1 with a 2.32 GAA and a .923 SV% this season.

11/5/2013 6:12:00 PM
Description: Columbus backup goaltender Curtis McElhinney will start a second straight game Tuesday against Ottawa.
Insight: There's been no word of an injury for Sergei Bobrovsky, so it's likely the team is just giving the 2012-13 Vezina Trophy winner some extra rest after pulling him Friday at Pittsburgh. The 30-year-old McElhinney is 1-1-0 with a 1.55 GAA and a .949 SV% in three games (two starts) this season.

11/2/2013 2:40:00 PM
Description: Columbus backup goaltender Curtis McElhinney will start Saturday against the Penguins.
Insight: McElhinney has played just two games and 96 minutes this season behind Sergei Bobrovsky. He's 1-0-0 with a 1.25 GAA and a .962 SV%, but he can be avoided against the high-powered Penguins.

10/4/2013 11:16:00 AM
Description: Columbus backup goaltender Curtis McElhinney is questionable for Friday's game against Calgary with a lower body injury.
Insight: McElhinney has little fantasy value behind last year's Vezina Trophy winner Sergei Bobrovsky.

7/4/2011 2:36:00 PM
Description: The Phoenix Coyotes have signed Curtis McElhinney to a one-year, two-way contract. TSN
Insight: McElhinney will be able to compete during training camp with Mike Smith and Jason LaBarbera to be the Coyotes' starting goalie. However, he will likely either be the team's backup or in the AHL.

3/23/2011 2:01:00 PM
Description: For the first time in his five games with Ottawa, McElhinney allowed more than two goals Tuesday night.
Insight: He yielded four, to be exact, amid 24 shots in the loss. McElhinney came to the Senators with nothing approaching high regard, so the fact that such an outing hasn't been the norm so far is commendable. We'll see how he proceeds. (RapidDraft.com)

3/20/2011 4:00:00 AM
Description: McElhinney was a star yet again for the Sens, stopping 35 of 37 shots to beat Tampa Bay.
Insight: It was the second time in his four games with Ottawa that McElhinney beat the team that waived him. He has yet to allow more than two goals in a game as a Senator. (RapidDraft.com)

3/18/2011 2:02:00 AM
Description: McElhinney was the top star for the second time in three games with Ottawa, halting 33 of 34 shots to beat New Jersey Thursday night.
Insight: McElhinney has a .953 save rate through three outings with the Senators, a far cry from the kind of performances that got him traded and then waived just a few weeks ago. We'll see if he can keep up his best Al Montoya impression. (RapidDraft.com)

3/12/2011 11:03:00 AM
Description: McElhinney halted 34 of 35 shots in his Senators debut Friday night to earn top-star status against the team that waived him last month.
Insight: The Sens claimed McElhinney on Feb. 28 after Tampa Bay waived him four days after a trade with Anaheim. The 27-year-old netminder has a .895 save rate and 3.30 GAA for the season, though, so don't overreact to one good game. (RapidDraft.com)

2/28/2011 1:17:00 PM
Description: The Ottawa Senators have claimed goalie Curtis McElhinney off waivers from the Tampa Bay Lightning. TSN
Insight: McElhinney was acquired just days ago from the Anaheim Ducks for Dan Ellis. He will probably serve as Craig Anderson's backup. Senators GM Bryan Murray said recently that Pascal Leclaire would likely spend some time in the AHL unless he was claimed off waivers (which he wasn't), so Leclaire probably won't factor into the goaltending mix for now.

2/28/2011 10:02:00 AM
Description: McElhinney was waived Saturday and is expected to be sent down if he clears on Monday.
Insight: This obviously doesn't add interest to a player who didn't generate much in the first place. (RapidDraft.com)

2/24/2011 1:01:00 PM
Description: McElhinney was dealt to Tampa Bay on Thursday for backup goalie Dan Ellis.
Insight: McElhinney allowed 23 goals in five starts in place of the ill Jonas Hiller and failed to get his save rate better than .840 in any of those games. He'll back up Dwayne Roloson in Tampa. (RapidDraft.com)

2/5/2011 8:43:00 PM
Description: Curtis McElhinney stopped all 25 shots in the Ducks' 3-0 win over Colorado on Saturday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: McElhinney posted his second shutout of both the season and his career. He was filling in for the fatigued Jonas Hiller, who did not dress for this game. The Ducks don't play again until Wednesday, so don't be surprised to see Hiller back between the pipes despite McElhinney's great performance.

12/22/2010 8:05:00 AM
Description: McElhinney made 37 saves in a 5-2 loss to the Sabres on Tuesday.
Insight: McElhinney faced a lot of shots but took his second straight loss as he fell to 2-4-1 with a 3.36 GAA. (RapidDraft.com)

12/9/2010 2:47:00 AM
Description: Curtis McElhinney left Wednesday's game against Vancouver in the third period with a facial injury. TSN
Insight: McElhinney was bleeding after taking a shot from Christian Ehrhoff off his mask. Should McElhinney miss any time, Jonas Hiller's playing time likely wouldn't be affected. McElhinney was starting the second of back-to-back road games for the Ducks.

11/11/2010 3:22:00 AM
Description: Curtis McElhinney stopped all 27 shots he faced in the Ducks' 1-0 win over the Islanders on Wednesday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: The shutout was the first in McElhinney's career. He will likely only start during back-to-back games for the Ducks, although Randy Carlyle likes to keep everyone guessing as to who his starter will be.

11/11/2010 2:01:00 AM
Description: McElhinney turned away all 27 shots the Islanders fired on Wednesday, earning the first shutout of his career.
Insight: Further reason not to take too much from the shutout: It followed consecutive games in which McElhinney yielded five goals each time. (RapidDraft.com)
