Montreal, QC (SportsNetwork.com) - Carey Price posted 27 saves for his fourth shutout of the season, as the Montreal Canadiens ended Calgary's five-game win streak with a 2-0 whitewashing of the Flames at Bell Centre.

Rene Bourque got Montreal on the board with 3:45 left in the second period, while David Desharnais added an empty netter in the final minute to help the Canadiens put the brakes on a two-game slide.

"We played pretty well in our own end," Price said. "We limited their scoring chances and that's the biggest reason why we won tonight."

Reto Berra, starting between the pipes for the Flames in place of an injured Karri Ramo, stopped 25-of-26 shots in the setback, Calgary's fourth in a row on the road.

After the teams combined for just nine shots in a scoreless first frame, the Flames found themselves with a 5-on-3 under five minutes into the second, but Calgary couldn't capitalize, as Price turned away all comers to keep the visitors off the board.

"The turning point in the game was our 5-on-3 power play," Calgary head coach Bob Hartley said. "If we score, it's a different game. We had a few good chances, but Price came up with some big saves."

Brandon Prust helped the Canadiens strike first later in the stanza, as he threw a shot on net from the low right side that Berra fought off. However, the rebound ricocheted off Bourque's left leg atop the crease and bounced across the goal line to give Montreal a 1-0 lead at 16:15.

With the Flames still trailing by one and under two minutes to play in the third, Berra left the net in favor of the extra attacker, but former Montreal forward Mike Cammalleri was whistled for hooking with 30.1 ticks left to hamper Calgary's comeback bid.

Desharnais potted an empty-netter 20 seconds later to account for the final margin.

Game Notes

Calgary entered the game 7-0-1 in its last eight meetings with Montreal ... The Flames fell to 9-14-4 on the road this season ... Ramo sustained a sprained medial collateral ligament on Saturday and will miss Calgary's final two games before the Olympics ... Cammalleri was facing his former team for the first time since being traded to Calgary with Ramo on Jan. 12, 2012 for Bourque, Patrick Holland and draft picks ... Montreal improved to 16-10-4 at home this season.
