Dallas Stars (32-25-11) at Philadelphia Flyers (36-25-7), 7 p.m.

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Flyers will try to match their longest winning streak of the season on Thursday night as they welcome the Dallas Stars to town.

Philadelphia has won each of its past three games and is aiming to win four in a row for the third time this season. The Flyers first did so from Dec. 23-31 and again from Feb. 1-8.

The Flyers have won 10 of their last 13 games and sit second in the Metropolitan Division. They are one point ahead of the New York Rangers and just three in front of both the Columbus Blue Jackets and Washington Capitals in the division standings.

Philadelphia is coming off a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday. The Flyers trailed by two goals just 3:51 into the game before Scott Hartnell countered with a pair of first-period tallies.

Both clubs failed to find any offense until overtime, when Flyers captain Claude Giroux scored with just 4.2 seconds left on the clock.

Giroux flew down the right wing into the zone and from the circle he snapped a laser on net, using Chicago defenseman Duncan Keith as a screen, and it went in and out of the left corner for the win.

"I knew when I went on the ice 15 seconds, maybe 20 seconds," said Giroux. "I knew there wasn't a lot of time, so I was just trying to shoot as hard as I can to the net and didn't really aim, to be honest. I just shot it on net."

Ray Emery allowed two early goals in the first period, but finished the game with 23 saves for the Flyers, who took the opener of a four-game homestand.

The Stars are trending in the other direction, having lost three straight games. They have been outscored 12-3 over the first two contests of a three- game road trip and are coming off Tuesday's 5-1 setback to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Kari Lehtonen, playing in his first game since suffering a concussion against the Minnesota Wild on March 8, gave up all five goals on 32 shots in his return, while Tyler Seguin scored Dallas' lone goal when he deflected a Trevor Daley shot in the first period.

"We had a couple real good opportunities in the second period," noted Stars coach Lindy Ruff. "We missed the net. I thought the killer goal was the third one late in the period. We could've easily tied the game up."

With the setback, the Stars sit two points behind the Phoenix Coyotes for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference.

Seguin notched a hat trick when the Stars defeated a visiting Flyers' club 5-1 on Dec. 7. It snapped Dallas' six-game losing streak in this series.

Steve Mason got the start for the Flyers and was pulled after giving up four goals through two periods, with Emery making seven saves in relief.

The Flyers have still won three straight versus the Stars in Philadelphia, where the clubs haven't met since Feb. 5, 2011.
