11/28/2013 12:30:00 PM
Description: Avalanche center Matt Duchene (oblique) returned to the lineup Wednesday night.
Insight: According to the Denver Post, Duchene (12 goals, eight assists in 19 games) admitted he wouldn't have played if Paul Stastny wasn't scratched due to back spasms. "I was going to take two more days and when Paulie went down, it was one of those situations where I needed to step in and I felt good enough to do so," Duchene said. "From that point, it wasn't precautionary any more and we just went with it. I'm thankful to get out of that game without anything more in terms of being hurt, I feel great, and I'm looking forward to playing on the weekend."

Description: According to the Denver Post, Colorado center Matt Duchene (oblique) will not join the team on its two-game road trip after all.
Insight: The Post reported Tuesday that he would join the team to practice Thursday with an eye on returning Saturday, but the Avs have decided not to rush him.

11/19/2013 7:55:00 PM
Description: According to the Denver Post, Colorado center Matt Duchene (oblique) will join the team on a two-game road trip that begins Thursday to start practicing. He might only miss two games (Tuesday and Thursday) with his injury.
Insight: The 22-year-old center has 12 goals and 20 points in 19 games. He might play as soon as Saturday, but coach Patrick Roy said the team won't rush him back.

11/17/2013 7:07:00 PM
Description: Avalanche coach Patrick Roy said he was told that center Matt Duchene would likely miss just one week with an oblique injury, according to Adrian Dater of the Denver Post.
Insight: The 22-year-old center has 12 goals and 20 points in 19 games, so losing him for any amount of time is a blow to fantasy owners, but this is good news considering the alternative.

11/17/2013 10:15:00 AM
Description: Avalanche center Matt Duchene suffered an oblique injury during Saturday's game, according to Adrian Dater of the Denver Post.
Insight: The 22-year-old center has 12 goals and 20 points in 19 games, so losing him for any amount of time would be a big blow to fantasy owners.

Hot11/7/2013 5:28:00 PM
Description: Avalanche center Matt Duchene missed Thursday's practice due to a bruised foot, but coach Patrick Roy expects him to play Friday.
Insight: The 22-year-old center is off to a flying start, scoring 10 goals and 17 points with 50 SOG in the first 14 games this season.

Hot10/26/2013 9:45:00 AM
Description: Avalanche center Matt Duchene scored two goals and had one assist and five SOG Friday night against the Hurricanes.
Insight: The 22-year-old center has shown that he only scratched the surface of his potential last season when he had 17 goals and 43 points in 47 games. In the first 10 games, he has eight goals, 12 points and 31 SOG and is a big reason why Colorado has gone from having the No. 1 pick in the 2013 draft to 9-1-0 this season.

Hot10/19/2013 9:52:00 PM
Description: Avalanche center Matt Duchene scored his sixth goal of the season Saturday at Buffalo.
Insight: He added his third assist, giving him nine points in the first eight games. The 22-year-old should continue to produce at this high level.

Hot10/16/2013 9:26:00 AM
Description: Matt Duchene's hot start continued with another two-goal effort Tuesday against Dallas.
Insight: The Avalanche center now has four goals in his last three contests and five for the season. His final tally of the night put Colorado ahead for good with about five minutes remaining in the third period. Duchene will have a chance to add to his goal total Thursday night against the Red Wings.

10/10/2013 10:11:00 PM
Description: Avalanche center Matt Duchene had two points Thursday in a win over Boston.
Insight: The 22-year-old Duchene emerged with 17 goals and 43 points in 47 games last season and is poised to improve on that pace in this full 82-game season. He has two goals and four points in his first four games.

7/18/2013 5:56:00 PM
Description: The Avalanche have signed Matt Duchene to a five-year contract extension that will pay him an average of $6 million per season.
Insight: The 22-year-old Duchene is one of several young and talented forwards the Avalanche have on the roster. However, Ryan O'Reilly, Paul Stastny, Duchene and 2013 No. 1 overall pick Nathan MacKinnon all play center, so it's unclear how Colorado's lines will look in 2013-14. Duchene is coming off a breakout year in which he posted 17 goals and 43 points in 47 games.

4/2/2013 10:55:00 PM
Description: Avalanche center Matt Duchene logged goal No. 15 Tuesday against the Predators.
Insight: Duchene is having a career year in his fourth season, putting up 35 points in 35 games. As is the case with all of Colorado's fantasy stars, he has a negative plus/minus (-8).

2/28/2013 3:03:00 PM
Description: Avalanche center Matt Duchene (groin) will return to action Thursday after missing Tuesday's game, according to the Denver Post.
Insight: Duchene is playing at a point-per-game pace even though he didn't have one in his last three games. The 2009 third overall draft pick struggled last season but he has a lot of talent and a prime role on Colorado's top line when healthy.

Description: Avalanche center Matt Duchene had a goal and two assists Monday in a win against the Predators.
