Description: Jamie Langenbrunner is calling it quits. The sixteen-year veteran announced his retirement from the NHL on Wednesday. SOURCE: NHLPA.com
Insight: Langenbrunner played 1,109 games in his career. During that time, he scored 243 goals of his own while assisting on 420 others. Though he spent his last two seasons in St. Louis, the vast majority of Langenbrunner's career was spent in New Jersey and Dallas.

2/11/2013 2:44:00 PM
Description: St. Louis Blues winger Jamie Langenbrunner will have hip surgery, ending his season.
Insight: Langenbrunner wasn't the same guy for Dallas and St. Louis that he was with New Jersey. He managed just 24 points last season and had one assist in four games this season.

7/6/2011 10:17:00 PM
Description: The St. Louis Blues have signed Jamie Langenbrunner to a one-year contract worth $2.5 million. TSN
Insight: Langenbrunner was a bust for fantasy teams last season, scoring just nine goals and 32 points in 70 games split between New Jersey and Dallas. Langenbrunner will be counted on to provide veteran scoring to a young Blues' attack, although fantasy owners probably shouldn't expect a major bounce-back campaign.

3/6/2011 12:14:00 PM
Description: Jamie Langenbrunner missed Saturday's game against San Jose with an upper-body injury. Dallas Morning News
Insight: Langenbrunner was the recipient of a hard hit from Brad Winchester during Friday's game against Anaheim. Consider him day-to-day for now.

1/7/2011 12:50:00 PM
Description: The New Jersey Devils have traded winger Jamie Langenbrunner back to the Dallas Stars for a conditional third-round pick in 2011. TSN ESPN
Insight: Langenbrunner will be on his second stint with the Stars, as he played for the organization from the 1994-95 season until he was traded to the Devils in 2002. Langenbrunner should improve on his (-15) from playing in Jersey this season, but his fantasy value probably won't improve much initially, as he will start on the third line alongside agitators Steve Ott and Adam Burish.

1/6/2011 6:38:00 PM
Description: Jamie Langenbrunner has confirmed that he is about to be traded by the New Jersey Devils. Newark Star-Ledger
Insight: Langenbrunner also said that he had been in discussions earlier about waiving his no-trade clause. Not only will he not play on Thursday against Philadelphia, but it looks like he has played his last game as a Devil. Langenbrunner was a healthy scratch for one game under coach Jacques Lemaire last season, so it's possible that Langenbrunner's time had come to an end when Lemaire returned to the club.

12/2/2010 1:00:00 PM
Description: Jamie Langenbrunner is expected to return to the Devils' lineup on Thursday against Montreal. Newark Star-Ledger
Insight: Langenbrunner has been out for the past eight games with a neck injury.

11/14/2010 9:14:00 PM
Description: Jamie Langenbrunner and Matt Taormina did not join the Devils for their trip to Boston for Monday's game. Bergen Record
Insight: The Devils are hoping that Langenbrunner will be ready for Thursday's game against Toronto, so he is still day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Meanwhile, Taormina twisted his ankle in practice, so he is also considered day-to-day.

11/12/2010 1:34:00 PM
Description: Jamie Langenbrunner will miss Friday's game against Edmonton with a neck or shoulder injury. Newark Star-Ledger
Insight: The Devils' captain was injured on Wednesday after sliding headfirst into the boards. Devils coach John MacLean will not give anyone else the "C" for Friday's game.

11/11/2010 5:34:00 PM
Description: Jamie Langenbrunner is listed as questionable for Friday's game against Edmonton after missing Thursday's practice. Fire & Ice
Insight: Langenbrunner went headfirst into the boards during Wednesday's game against Buffalo. He returned to the game and scored a goal later in the game, so he probably woke up and felt the effects of the hit.

11/4/2010 11:04:00 AM
Description: Langenbrunner picked up three points in a win over Chicago on Wednesday.
Insight: Langenbrunner scored a goal and added two assists to give him two goals and six assists on the year. (RapidDraft.com)

11/4/2010 1:39:00 AM
Description: Jamie Langenbrunner scored a goal and added two assists with a +3 in 26 minutes of icetime in the Devils' 5-3 win over Chicago on Wednesday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: Langenbrunner, like many of his Devils' teammates, had been mired in a deep slump, scoring just a goal and an assist in his past nine games. He is receiving top-line minutes with Ilya Kovalchuk and Travis Zajac, which is a good sign that better days are ahead.

10/14/2010 8:03:00 AM
Description: Langenbrunner recorded an assist on Wednesday against the Sabres.
Insight: Langenbrunner has three points in four games to start the year. He has three assists over that span. (RapidDraft.com)

9/26/2010 11:00:00 AM
Description: A source has told the Bergen Record that the Colorado Avalanche are interested in acquiring Jamie Langenbrunner. Fire & Ice
Insight: The Devils are attempting to unload a player for cap reasons after signing Ilya Kovalchuk, so Langenbrunner and David Clarkson's names have come up as possible trade candidates. The Avs could use a veteran like Langenbrunner to provide leadership to their younger core players.

7/20/2010 3:59:00 PM
Description: The New Jersey Devils may attempt to trade Jamie Langenbrunner in order to create more cap space after the Ilya Kovalchuk signing. Newark Star-Ledger
Insight: Langenbrunner, the Devils' captain, has one year left on his contract at a cap hit of $2.8 million. He was rumored to be at odds with old coach Jacques Lemaire, but he seems willing to work with the Devils this season. The Devils may start shopping players now that the Kovalchuk signing has gone down.
