Insight: Elliott allowed two goals on three shots while Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec saved one of two shootout attempts. Despite not earning the victory, Elliott has been solid in his last two starts, allowing just one goal on 59 shot attempts.

Insight: Elliot allowed three goals but that wasn't bad considering he was peppered for 47 shots. His .936 save percentage for a single game was his best number since the last time he started against Nashville on Nov. 8. It will be interesting to see what happens in net for St. Louis with Jake Allen, Martin Brodeur and Elliott as options. For the time being, the Blues will carry three goalies.

Insight: Blues coach Ken Hitchcock told reporters it will be "awhile" before Elliott returns. The goaltender skated a few days ago and felt very sore afterwards. Jake Allen will continue to be the starter with Martin Brodeur as his backup.
