Insight: Hamhuis has been dealing with a groin injury causing him to miss two games. The defenseman has four goals, 15 points, 24 PIM and 118 SOG in 57 games.

2/6/2014 4:11:00 PM
Description: Vancouver defenseman Dan Hamhuis will not play Thursday, according to Dan Murphy of sportsnet.ca.
Insight: Hamhuis suffered an undisclosed injury Monday night. The defenseman has four goals, 15 points, 24 PIM and 118 SOG in 57 games.

Description: Vancouver defenseman Dan Hamhuis will not play Tuesday, according to Dan Murphy of sportsnet.ca.
Insight: Hamhuis suffered an undisclosed injury Monday night. The defenseman has four goals, 15 points, 24 PIM and 118 SOG in 57 games.

10/17/2013 1:25:00 PM
Description: Vancouver defenseman Dan Hamhuis is probable for Thursday's game against Buffalo with an upper body injury.
Insight: He had back-to-back +29 rating seasons in 2010 and 2011 and has totaled 20 points or more for nine consecutive seasons. Get him back in your lineup.

1/15/2013 12:29:00 PM
Description: Vancouver defenseman Dan Hamhuis is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against Anaheim. He's recovering from offseason hernia surgery.
Insight: Hamhuis was on the ice Monday and should be good to go either for opening day or shortly thereafter. He has had back-to-back +29 rating seasons and posted a solid 37 points last season (3 G, 33 A).

6/17/2011 3:29:00 PM
Description: Dan Hamhuis is expected to undergo sports hernia surgery and may not be ready for the start of the 2011-12 season. Vancouver Province
Insight: Hamhuis missed most of the Stanley Cup Final as a result of a hit on Milan Lucic. The Canucks were being very secretive about the injury, although the fact that Hamhuis was not skating meant that it was something beyond the day-to-day variety.

6/4/2011 8:57:00 PM
Description: Andrew Alberts has replaced the injured Dan Hamhuis on the Canucks' blueline for Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final on Saturday. ESPN
Insight: Surprisingly, Keith Ballard is a healthy scratch again. Alberts is a big defenseman who appears better able to handle the bigger Bruins forwards than Ballard or Chris Tanev.

6/3/2011 2:59:00 PM
Description: Dan Hamhuis was not at Friday's practice following his injury during Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. TSN
Insight: Andrew Alberts practiced with Christian Ehrhoff on Friday, meaning that the former Bruin could suit up for Game 2 as Hamhuis' replacement. Check back for further updates, but it seems that Hamhuis is questionable at best for Game 2.

6/2/2011 12:58:00 AM
Description: Dan Hamhuis left Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final in the second period after he delivered a hit on Milan Lucic. TSN
Insight: Following the game, Canucks coach Alain Vigneault said that Hamhuis was "fine" and "day-to-day." No need to get so descriptive - after all, it's the playoffs. Check back for further updates on whether Hamhuis will play in Game 2 on Saturday.

5/19/2011 12:58:00 AM
Description: Dan Hamhuis recorded three assists with a +2 in the Canucks' 7-3 win over San Jose in Game 2 on Wednesday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: Hamhuis more than doubled his playoff point total with his three assists, as he entered the game with just two playoff assists. Keep in mind that the Canucks did not sign him for his offense, though.

3/27/2011 8:03:00 PM
Description: Dan Hamhuis left Sunday's game against Columbus in the first period with a concussion. Vancouver Province
Insight: Hamhuis collided with teammate Kevin Bieksa and Blue Jackets forward Rick Nash. This concussion is his second this season, so expect the Canucks to rest him until at least the start of the playoffs. Look for another blueline option for next week.

3/9/2011 2:21:00 AM
Description: Dan Hamhuis scored two goals, including the overtime winner, with a +2 in the Canucks' 4-3 win over Phoenix on Tuesday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: Since returning from a concussion, Hamhuis had failed to record a point in his previous seven games. The pointless streak had also reached nine games, and Hamhuis had not scored a goal since January 24. Defensively, he is a huge asset for the Canucks, but he is not the best fantasy option for your blueline.

3/9/2011 2:02:00 AM
Description: Hamhuis delivered two goals for the Canucks Tuesday night, including his first game-winner of the season.
Insight: That gives the blue-liner a whopping six goals and 20 points for the year, though his plus-26 rating is tied for third in the league. (RapidDraft.com)

2/23/2011 9:03:00 AM
Description: Hamhuis returned Tuesday night after missing five games with a concussion.
Insight: He finished the game with a minus-1 rating and no shots on goal. Hamhuis sits plus-20 for the season, though, with 18 points. (RapidDraft.com)

2/21/2011 7:57:00 PM
Description: Dan Hamhuis is expected to return to the Canucks' lineup on Tuesday against Montreal, while Keith Ballard is questionable to return for that game. TSN
Insight: Hamhuis has missed the past five games with a concussion, while Ballard has missed the past seven games with a knee sprain. Neither defenseman holds considerable fantasy value, although their returns will no doubt save wear and tear on Christian Ehrhoff and Sami Salo, the only other Canucks' regular defensemen who are healthy.

2/11/2011 4:58:00 PM
Description: Dan Hamhuis will be sidelined indefinitely with a concussion suffered during Wednesday's game. Vancouver Province
Insight: Not the news that Canucks fans or fantasy owners wanted to hear, since the Nucks are already without Alex Edler and Keith Ballard. There seems to be a lot of debate as to whether the hit Ryan Getzlaf delivered on Hamhuis was clean, although Getzlaf was neither penalized nor suspended for the hit. It is difficult to project how long Hamhuis will be out, given the uncertain nature of concussions.

2/10/2011 12:20:00 PM
Description: Dan Hamhuis left Wednesday's game against Anaheim in the third period after taking a hit along the boards from Ryan Getzlaf. Canadian Press
Insight: Hamhuis looked like he was hit in the head by Getzlaf's elbow, so there is some worry that he has a concussion. The Canucks are currently saying that he is fine, although his status for Saturday's game against Calgary is up in the air. Getzlaf did not receive a penalty and will not likely be suspended.

12/4/2010 9:05:00 AM
Description: Hamhuis picked up an assist on Friday against the Blackhawks.
Insight: Hamhuis has points in three straight games with a goal and two assists over that span. (RapidDraft.com)

12/2/2010 9:01:00 AM
Description: Hamhuis scored his third goal of the season on Wednesday against the Flames.
Insight: Hamhuis now has points in back-to-back games to give him five points total on the year over a 15 game span.

11/9/2010 1:17:00 PM
Description: Dan Hamhuis will return to the Canucks' lineup on Tuesday against Montreal. As a result, Keith Ballard will be a healthy scratch for the game. Globe & Mail
Insight: Hamhuis has been sidelined since October 17 with a bruised foot. Ballard, who has never been a healthy scratch in his career, is not sitting because he has played poorly. Both Andrew Alberts and Aaron Rome have stepped up their play during the Canucks' six-game win streak, so Canucks coach Alain Vigneault is rewarding them for their play.
