Getzlaf lifts Ducks over Preds

Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Ryan Getzlaf tallied twice and added an assist, as the Anaheim Ducks scored three unanswered goals to claim a 5-2 triumph over the Nashville Predators on Saturday at Bridgestone Arena.

Mike Fisher potted a power-play goal 1:05 into the third to pull the Predators even at 2-2, but Emerson Etem and Mathieu Perreault scored 3:13 apart shortly after to give Anaheim a two-goal edge.

Jonas Hiller held Nashville off the board from there and finished with 36 saves, while Corey Perry also lit the lamp for the Ducks, who snapped a three- game slide in their final game before the Olympic break.

Viktor Stalberg scored Nashville's other goal, while Carter Hutton allowed four goals on 23 shots for the Predators, who have lost three straight heading into the break.

"They came out really hard," Etem said of the Predators. "They were backchecking and getting to loose pucks first. Once we turned that around, we were all right. It was a great win to enter the break."

With the tilt tied 2-2 just under five minutes into the final frame, Hampus Lindholm rifled a slapper from the high slot that tipped off the shaft of Etem's stick and found the top corner of the cage for a 3-2 lead at 4:51.

Just over three minutes later, Perreault forced a turnover deep in the Nashville zone and made his way to the front of the net, where he pounded home a Daniel Winnik feed to make it 4-2 at 8:04.

"I thought we battled back and came back with a big power-play goal by Fish (Fisher) in the third," Stalberg said. "Then we had a turnover that caused a goal. We made a push but we didn't have it tonight."

Getzlaf's empty-netter from deep in his own end accounted for the final margin at 19:24.

Stalberg buried a rebound amid a scrum in front 11:35 into the contest to make it 1-0 Nashville, but Getzlaf got the Ducks even at 18:49 when his centering feed from outside the right circle deflected off a defender's stick and skipped past Hutton.

Perry put one home from the low left side with the Ducks on the power play 11:45 into the second to give Anaheim a 2-1 edge.

Game Notes

Perreault recorded his 100th career point ... Anaheim has won five straight against Nashville, including a 4-3 road win on Jan. 9 ... Lindholm finished with two assists ... Both teams went 1-for-3 on the power play.
