Francis misses game against Rangers with back injury

Raleigh, N.C. — Associate coach Ron Francis will not be behind the bench for tonight’s game at Madison Square Garden against the New York Rangers, the Carolina Hurricanes announced Tuesday.
Francis suffered a back injury during the All-Star break and is not with the team on the current road trip.
The Hurricanes play the Rangers at 7 p.m. Carolina returns home to Raleigh for a game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night at the RBC Center at 7 p.m.
