No question, NC State's QB is Brissett
Posted March 5
It's year two of spring ball at NC State under coach Dave Doeren and unlike last season there are no questions at quarterback.
"Last year, you're trying to evaluate every snap and wonder who it's going to be," said NC State head coach Dave Doeren.
Jacoby Brissett, the undisputed starter under center.
"It's amazing but you've just got to make sure that everyone knows why you're the guy, and not go out there and embarrass yourself," says redshirt junior QB Jacoby Brissett.
But Doeren is quick to point out that just because the redshirt junior transfer from Florida's been dubbed the depth chart's number one it doesn't mean he's been named the heisman.
"All I'm saying with that is he's got a lot to prove," Doeren explained. "He hasn't started a game here yet. He's the number one quarterback in our offense and he's going to play like a number one. Ask him, he's hard on himself, he's competitive, and he does have a great skill set. But he does have a bunch of young guys around him and now we need to get that chemistry."
"You can always learn from everything and get better each week, but I feel like I'm pretty solid," said Brissett.
That solidarity as starter, stems from Brissett not starting from scratch.
The defector from the swamp spent his NCAA regulated season on the sidelines impressing his teammates in practice, honored as the Wolfpack's scout team player of the year.
So just magine what he can do with five weeks worth of full-time reps before April 12th's spring game.
