Greensboro, N.C. — Former Wake Forest star Chris Paul and Davis Love III drew the biggest crowds at Sedgefield for the Wyndham Pro-Am Wednesday.
"I've had an opportunity to play a lot of basketball all over the world but when I found out I was paired with Davis I was like a little kid," said Paul.
Paul is showing no jet-lag just three days removed from a gold medal winning performance in the 2012 Olympics.
"I almost forget that I was just in London two days ago," said Paul. "When you're there opening ceremonies and you realize this is the biggest team, the best team that you'll ever be on, there's no greater feeling."
But his week isn't going to get any less crazy, Paul and his wife Jada are expecting their second child Thursday. So though he's not likely to be at the Wyndham this weekend, he'll still be pulling for one of the contenders, defending champion Webb Simpson. Simpson and Paul attended Wake Forest together.
"We were good friends in college. Webb is just a great guy," said Paul. "I know everybody says that but it's the truth. We text often and I'm just happy to see Webb playing great because he's one of the guys that absolutely deserves it."
