Pack Questions answered

Before leaving for Dayton I put a question out on twitter asking fans what they wanted to know about the WolfPack before Friday's game with Temple. I was able to get the answers to some of those questions today after NC State's open practice.

How is Richard Howell?

Howell had a thigh bruise from being kneed in the same spot multiple times while at the ACC tournament. He was walking with a visible limp in Greensboro. I asked Howell today how he was feeling. He said he's "ok" and said it was getting better. He didn't look to have any problems with it at practice.

Did the players see "Survive and Advance"?

Most of the players said they've seen the movie and they found it inspiring. They said the movie puts a big spotlight on the program and that's a good thing at this time of the year.

Are the players motivated?

Absolutely. How could you not be at the NCAA tournament? I will say this group feels like it really has something to prove. That's not surprising, but it is definitely the feeling you get when talking to the players.

There are a couple of notes I found interesting while talking to the guys. Rodney Purvis told me he didn't really understand how hard it was to get into the tournament until Selection Sunday. "My boy Dez Wells (from Maryland) isn't here," he said. That should make Purvis even more motivated to play well this week. Understanding what a challenge it is to make the NCAA tournament is important.

As expected, Lorenzo Brown will handle the bulk of the defensive duties on Temple's Khalif Wyatt. He is averaging 19 points a game this season.

That's about it from here in Dayton. If you are headed to town, I highly recommend The Pine Club if you are looking for a good meal!

The 30-30 clip was inspiring for all State players as I read today. Wishing the Pack a win as well as all others in the ACC. Duke did their job today in strong fashion.

For the record, I think NC State beats Temple big. The more I looked at Temple, the less I thought it would be a close game.

Sorry, but I cannot cheer for NC State or Duke. I will never cheer for Duke, no exception. I will only cheer for NC State if they play Duke. I want them both to lose. I will cheer for Miami because they are in the ACC. But at 12:15, I'm Albany's biggest fan. (Most of America will be too: http://www.amazon.com/Duke-Sucks-Completely-Evenhanded-Investigation/dp/1250004632/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1363967152&sr=8-1&keywords=Duke+Sucks) Later on, I will cheer for Temple.

Of course, all I need to be happy today is for UNC to win. I would gladly take a UNC win if it meant NC State and Duke would win too.
