    "Chosen... Good Lord"

Seems legit. I believe. I will now worship. If Cam gets an MVP and SB ring this season, I'll be opening the Church of Cam. I will teach the children that Cam and Chosen are one and the same. My congregation and I will be tasked with the initial mission of convincing anonymous players from the 2011 Pro-Bowl that, no matter how hard it maybe, they must ask Cam for forgiveness and accept his son as the way.

LeBron was chosen to test the world's faith in MJ.

Anyone remember when one would have to argue the fact that Cam was well on his way to becoming an elite QB? Not only is he now that, but he's the MVP for an entire regular season.

This is my testimony and I hope it inspires all of you to hold strong to what you believe and don't let the skeptics break your faith.

Congrats to the Carolina Panthers and Cam Newton on a terrific regular season. This is the first time the panthers have ever finished 15-1 and earned the #1 overall record.

With the terrible day Tom Brady had and with Carson Palmer and the Cardinals getting demolished by the Seahawks it's now safe to say Cam Newton is this seasons MVP.

+1.....I always get a kick out of those who attempt to get fans to embrace the current format. We all know an expanded playoff is a bad idea. Just look at the FCS, March Madness, and the college baseball playoffs. Plus, nobody really follows pro ball because of that playoff thing. Give me a glorified bowl game 24/7....lol.

D, it is my hope that they will one day get this right where D1 football is concerned. We can dream.....

LeWho? Is that the same guy who couldn't get it done in Cleveland, did some winner shopping, hooked up with the Heat, and later chose to return to a certain city after feeling a little guilty over....The Decision?

What's up with all the Jim Kelly stuff lately? When I think of Jim, I think of a drinking town with a football problem.

    Not LeChosen, that's for sure.

Real chosen ones get drafted to franchises that know how to build a winning team. One where you have arguably the greatest coach of all time and the front office adds pieces like Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Shaquille O'Neal, and Pau Gasol to go along with the best player in the game. LeBron's incredible career will go down as just a fluke. He literally had to leave Cleveland for them to realize the recipe. A real chosen one could've made them understand that without walking out.

Yes sir. I remember. And I also remember you behind Newton from day 1!
But those in the know knew that Newton had to have help. Who knew that the Panthers would build that help in-house.

I am one who was extremely critical of the GM Gettleman. Now for me, the guy is a genius.

Yesterday's Seattle/Arizona game shows how dangerous Seattle is. Glad the Panthers have home field advantage. Seattle will be one tough team to beat, and Arizona won't go down without a very good fight either. Charlotte, Seattle, and Arizona are the three best teams in the NFL IMHO.

    Hey uBnice!
Glad to see you found this thread. So far, it's been a great reprieve from the smack that goes on in the other forums.

I didn't like some of Gettleman's moves either. It's tough to watch other players like DeAngelo Williams having terrific careers - for other teams. But Gettleman has proven he knows what he's doing.

    Hey StunGunn! Happy New Year!

It has been quite the rollercoaster ride with the Panthers and Newton. But for fans of the Panthers like you and me, it is fun! As you have stated, the title of this long-standing thread is proof positive how Newton and the Panthers have been viewed. Newton will be the 2015 NFL MVP with the best record in the NFL! 15-1 and it was fun watching! Up and down. Around and about. A rollercoaster ride!

The road to the Super Bowl runs through Charlotte! Who would have thought?! Now us Panthers fans have to prepare for the SuperBowl rollercoaster ride. I am happy! :-)

Happy New Year to you as well, uBnice!

I remember the last regular season game the Panthers lost - the debacle at Minnesota in 2014 - who knew they'd go on and keep winning, until they lost to Atlanta a week ago. Yes, it's been a wild ride, and the roller coaster is still running.

I hope they don't have to face Seattle in the first round of the playoffs- they will be a tough out. Hope the Panthers get some of their key players back for the playoffs.

Regular season is over so let's leave it there. B I still think father time has caught up with Peyton. He wont be playing the Chargers in the playoffs, but we will see. Wouldn't want to play Seattle. Brady and Co. have too many injuries, as great as Brady is he cant do it alone. Skins will beat the Packers. Rogers hasn't look like Rogers all year (Jordy Nelson). Cousins and their running game has been lights out. Panthers seem a bit cocky, but hey they are 15-1. Don't trust my Steelers secondary, but It's all about the pass rush. Hope D Will can go and Ben doesn't throw picks like he did in the regular season. Panthers/Steelers Super Bowl. Who else would I pick. LOL!

  • bishopdiamond5 Jan 5, 4:31 p.m.

Agreed, T. Everybody is 0-0 at this point and the reg. season won't help 'em now. Disagree with ya about Peyton and here's why.....was watching him Sunday & he was moving around like Dan Fouts. OK....maybe you have a point. lol

Seriously, time will tell regarding Manning but he should be mentally and physically fresh. I'm with ya regarding Seattle. That is the one team out of all of 'em I would not want to face. Russell is an elite QB and should be treated as such, imo. Yep...the Pats are dinged up and losing 4 of 6 heading into the playoffs is not the way you want to go in. Rodgers is not looking like Rodgers (comp % down) & GB looks very average at this point - he misses Jordy Nelson for sure.

'Skins are playing better than usual but when you're used to being on the bottom, there is only one way to go. Secondary is banged up. Panthers just need to focus - losing Tillman hurts a little. Wonder about some of the others going in. NEVER count the Steelers out.

  • Toddler10-21 Jan 5, 6:22 p.m.

True about the Steelers. We can score with anyone even without Bell or Williams. Win the turnover battle and we usually win. The weather will play a major factor with how Peyton performs also. Mentally he will never lose. Sometimes at a point your body just cant do it all the time like you use too. Understand about the moving around, but it will be either Pittsburgh or Cincy in the playoffs. If he gets time he will kill #41 Mr. Blake for us. He has given up over 1200 yards and missed over 26 tackles, but he is still starting. SMH!

Love the way cousins is playing. Did you see where fans at the Cowboys/Skins game were wearing RG3 jerseys and it turns out that they were his family members. SMH. Sounds like to me he hasn't learned his lesson. Pretty sure he knew about it. Jerry Jones would be nuts to take him or Manzel, but it wouldn't surprise me. Him going to rehab was a big joke. He will probably take them both because he loves the attention.

  • bishopdiamond5 Jan 5, 9:32 p.m.
    Towel Boy

Williams and Bell are a nice pair to have in the backfield - looked at their numbers and they both did a very nice job (4.5 & 4.9 ypc). Big Ben had some nice numbers but threw too many picks. If #7 takes care of it, wouldn't want to see the Steelers either. Agree with ya about Peyton - it was a good idea putting him in against SD (like they had a choice) so he could shake off the rust. After watching him throw, if he were on a baseball field, we might call him "Rag Arm"....but a very good Rag Arm. lol

Cousins has been outstanding, especially over the last several weeks. 'Skins can score also but their D needs to improve. AR could have a field day - hope not. Can't blame RG3's family for wearing his jersey. I would expect that for obvious reasons. He could very well land in Dallas. As far as Johnny Football goes, given the stuff he's done, don't care for him.

Can't stand Jerry either, and agree about him taking Manzel or RG3. Johnny is just a little punk who hasn't learned his lesson; he's been given too many chances IMHO.

Of all the teams the Panthers may face, it will probably be Seattle, as I think they will beat the Vikings. They're the LAST team I want to see the Panthers face, and it doesn't seem right to have that caliber game in the second round of playoffs. It's like Seattle is being rewarded for starting the season slow. But, the Panthers didn't deserve to be in the playoffs last year, let alone with home field advantage over Arizona. I sure hope the Panthers are focused when they play next weekend. To a man, they realize their 15-1 record doesn't mean much if they lose in the playoffs, especially in their first game, at home.

  • StunGunn Jan 6, 9:43 a.m.
    Sports Legend

With Stewart banged up, I wish the Panthers had D Williams on the roster, although he's dinged up as well. They made a great tandem back in the day, and it's tough to see Williams having such a great year with the Steelers (sorry, T - I wish he was still in Charlotte!)

The Panthers are also really thin in the corner position, and that's going to be tough - you know opponents will capitalize on that weakness.

I'm going to be a huge Vikings fan this weekend!

B Do you really think RG3 and his ego will be ok with being a backup? The only time he will get into the game will be if Romo is injured. Wonder if he is happy for Cousins?

No, agreed, and no. RG3 was given the keys to DC and didn't take advantage of it. He's taken a lot of heat over his inability to read defenses, stick with game plans, etc.. Anyway, it worked out for the 'Skins & Cousins has been flawless over the last several weeks. Would like to see them improve their D and their running attack needs some work. Morris and Jones are only averaging 3.7/3.4 ypc - need to get it up some. Looking forward to the game...just glad they got in. Over the last several years, seems like they're always on the bottom looking up.

Although he doesn't have all that much experience, gotta give credit to RW for what he did on that botched play when the ball ended up on the ground. He turned a mistake into a TD. Is Mr. "I'm just here so I don't get fined" upset? Thought it was odd he took himself out of the game last week. Thought for sure it was a team doctor's decision. I bet he's in Charlotte on Sunday. Seattle may be fine without him, but they're better with him.

Thanks Gunny and B. ben did tough it out. I don't think we have a chance with Landry Jones in Denver against the number one defense in the NFL. Ben said today if I cant throw the ball past 20 yards I'm hurting the team and I agree. Even if Brown plays he wont be much of a factor without Ben. If my boys do win it will be because of our defense and forcing turnovers.

Burfict and Jones SMH. Marvin Lewis is a good coach, but he doesn't have control of those two. Burfict made a pick and ran into the locker room like the game was over and then they fumble and give it back. Jones saying Brown is faking is unbelievable!!

lol at being misunderstood for sure.

The Panthers will face their toughest opponents in their NFC games IMHO. The "reward" for beating Seattle (and I hope they do!!) is most likely Arizona, who is a very good team. I don't see any team in the AFC posing as tough a matchup for the Panthers as their NFC opponents. If they make it to the SB, I like their chances.

Sure hope they can get it done this year. 15-1 will be a distant memory if they don't cap it off with a ring. Losing to Seattle would be an awful way to end a special season, but the Panthers should be ready and very focused and motivated.

Gunny still hoping for a Steelers/Panthers matchup, but we are too banged up, Bell, Pouncey, Deanglo, Ben and Brown are all out. A lot of pro bowls between these guys. If we were to beat the Broncos Tomlin is the best coach in the league. Don't count out the Chiefs.

And Ben and Brown are out due to the same dirty player. Sucks.

I think Seattle will be Carolina's toughest test, and I hate that they are their first opponent. To be fair, if the Panthers can't beat Seattle, they shouldn't be in the SB, but it's still hard to stomach.

Your guys got a raw deal. Gotta play who you have, but like you said, look at all those pro bowlers who will be sitting on the sidelines for the game.

I see this year after year, and I think those four pre-season games are just too much wear and tear on the players. They make money, so the greedy NFL won't give those games up, and people pay to see the stars, not the bench warmers. Just too much abuse for the body to take.
