I hope I'm wrong but I just don't see the Panthers making the playoffs this year.

the panthers will be fine this year

Fox will ''NOT" be fired at the end of this year. He is a winning coach. There is not too many ''WINNING'' coach's around to take his place. I think the Panther's have made the right choices in the draft. Most of what they let go was not worth the money they were receiving. Peppers was a big baby and didn't give his all most of the time. I also think that DelHomme was scared most of the time.

Exactly! Jake may be gone, and even though he found a team to take him, The Panthers still have to pay the 12 million owed to him. What a waste. So, Jake is basically double dipping by getting paid by two teams. Totally nuts. It's pretty obvious that this will be Foxy's last year and probably Hurney's as well.

its because they really don't have the money you think they do. Jordan gross has a large contract, they still have to pay Jake 12 million and SS has a large $$ as well. They are also trying to get younger, plus its the last year of Hurney and Fox's contract so they are not taking big risks that might not pay off (ie Albert Haynesworth)

It starts first with a DT. Losing Kemoatu is going to leave a huge gap in the midde of that line and if we don't plug if up with a big body, we are going to have the ball run down our throats this year. Next we need to find a complimenting receiver that can take some double teams away from Steve Smith, look he is a great player but we can't throw him the ball every play and Dwayne Jarrett was a huge bust for us and Muhammad is old and has never been a deep threat in his entire career. Matt Moore will work this year, but in terms of a long term approach he is more of a quick fix than an actual solution. It would have been nice to have that first round pick this year, but we did the right thing in trading up last year to sign Everett Brown, who mark my words, will turn out to be one heck of a pass rusher in the coming years. He isn't as big as Peppers was but he is just as athletic and has a great speed rushing ability. With our first pick this year I wouldn't be suprised to see us go with a WR or with a DT, it is just a shame we aren't getting anyone like a Suh or Gerald McCoy, and in terms of solid prospect WR's in this years draft, there aren't many. The main two went late in the first round with Dez Bryant and Thomas out of GT. Thats why I think it is in our best interest to use our pick at 48 to find a young and talented DT that can help us on the line. With that being said, if Colt McCoy is still on that board when it is our turn to pick, do we take a chance on him? The NFL draft is a shoot, especially when it comes to QB's, but I really like what I've seen out of McCoy. He had a solid pro day and is a gunslinger with a strong and accurate arm. If he is taken, sit him for 2 years and let him learn the system, no sense in throwin him to the wolves early on in his career.

I haven't heard of any big name signees, however, in addition to the needs you mentioned, they also need a better #2 receiver to go along with Smith.

Ok someone answer me this...Free agency is here and the panthers get low budget players. Now remember Peppers, Delhomme and a few others have been let go...So they have freed up a lot of money...Now why haven't they signed a big name or something? What are they going to do in the draft, trade all there picks away like usual....Are they afraid of a strike next year or what....If they dont Beef up the D-line, it will be over before it starts...Matt Moore will work out just fine at QB.., but who his back up?
