The name is Jon Gruden, You said you were tired of has beens, what do you think Gruden is. The only reason he won a super bowl is becaues he had Tony Dunge's team...

  • gwnunn Dec 31, 2010

Hope none of the guys mentioned above come to Carolina. I'm tired of Has Been's. Fox should have left 3 years ago. I would love to see the ex-Tampa Bay coach come, can't remember his name. He would wake this team up and make Steve Smith an All-Star again even though I am not a Steve Smith fan.

I agree that we need a new owner, but that's not going to happen. Richardson needs to get his sons back in the fold, get rid of his general manager, who spent a lot of money on old players, like the one from Washington, that did nothing, and hire Bill Cowher as the new coach/GM, and let him make the picks. If he does that the Panthers will be in the playoffs in 2012.

This past Sunday the FOX NFL pregame crew predicted the Panthers would draft Luck :)

Vick is doing great right now. He would not want to go to a team that might take 3-4 years to rebuild. He is show casing his talents again. Better than ever. Cowher is too smart to TOUCH this team. Who would want it right now? Maybe some fired coach. There will probably be about 7-8 at the seasons end.

Tony Dungy, you can bet your 401k on it. And there will be no Vick, that's laughable, no matter how he plays. Absolutely not.

Cowher maybe if he's paid a ton of money and allowed to also be the GM. Vick though? Not a chance in Hell. No way does Philly let him go.

we can only hope that we get cam newton or andrew luck along with cowher

I still don't see Cowher going to Charlotte. He likes to take charge and have the organization right behind him.

Thanks. I was thinking that one was a senior. I missed this one.

LOL, I remember when Vick got out of prison and was lambasted on here... no one wanted him, and now he'd be ok... Well, fat chance, the Eagles will not let him go, no way no how.

The big bugaboo in all this is the labor situation. Teams aren't going to go after splashy coaching hires unless they're sure of an uninterrupted season IMO. Though, the Panthers don't really operate like a good team so maybe they try to pay a big name coach to twiddle thumbs while the owners and the NFLPA duke it out.

Not so fast, Cowher has said publicly he wants to coach again, and Terry Bradshaw said on air last year that Cowher had told him he would love to coach the Panthers if given the opportunity, now granted, his wife has since died and that could change everything one way or the other. He lives in NC, comes back here a lot during football season, as he was at the Hurricanes game a couple of weeks ago and of course has ties with NC State and is there a lot since he played there.

For Vick, Philly can keep him, I would rather the felons stay away please.

I don't see either of these two coming to Charlotte. Vick is doing great at Philly. Cowher is waiting for the right fit. Plus he seems to like what he is doing right now. And, kids in school.

I don't blame John Fox for this season. With what Richardson left on the roster, Tony Dungy, Bill Belichick, and Bill Parcells together couldn't help this team win!! Richardson should put up or sell!!

Cowher may not be interested but Fox will NOT be back next year. I'm a big John Fox fan and I hope your right, but I just don't see it happening. He already sounds like he can't wait for this season to end so he can get the heck out of Dodge. Richardson left him with nothing and he knows it.

I agree, the Eagles aren't giving up Vick and Bill is happy doing what he's doing. Fox will be the coach next year with some changes with assistant coaches.

I don't see the Eagles giving up Vick. After all, he does have one of the highest QB ratings in the league right now. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see any "big name coach" jumping at the panthers right now. It will be someone who has no record/experience as a head coach, again
