Raleigh, N.C. — Carolina Panthers fans in the Triangle can listen to every game of the 2010 NFL season on 99.9 FM The Fan ESPN Radio, according to the terms of a deal announced Thursday.
The Fan, which is owned by the same parent company as 620 (AM) The Buzz, WRAL-TV and WRALSportsFan.com, will offer coverage of the team's training camp in Spartanburg, S.C., play-by-play of all preseason and regular-season games and Coach John Fox's weekly radio show.
“Since we went on the air in the fall of 2007 we have had an outstanding relationship with the Panthers and I think our listeners have come to expect they get the full package of interviews, analysis, opinions and entertainment in our coverage. Adding the play-by-play and all the other elements in this partnership is a great opportunity for us, and we hope to further enhance the experience football fans get in hearing the Panthers in action,” said Dave Shore, operations manager of sports radio properties for Capitol Broadcasting Company.
The first game broadcast will be Aug. 12 at 8 p.m. when the Panthers take on the Baltimore Ravens. The first regular season game airs Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. when Carolina travels to face the New York Giants.
