Raleigh, N.C. — Raleigh's PNC Arena will host second-and third-round basketball games of the 2014 NCAA Tournament, the NCAA announced on Monday.
The games will be played on March 21 and 23, 2014, and will mark the 15th time Raleigh has hosted NCAA Tournament games.
"The PNC Arena is a magnificent basketball facility," NC State Director of Athletics Debbie Yow said. "Soon the rest of the nation will know that, as well, when they see the regionals here in Raleigh."
PNC Arena also hosted NCAA Tournament games in 2004 and 2008, and North Carolina has hosted the most tournament games in history.
The NCAA also on Monday announced that second-and third-round action will return to Charlotte's Time Warner Cable Arena on March 20 and 22, 2015.
Charlotte has hosted 86 tournament games and will be hosting teams for the 22nd time.Other preliminary-round sites for the 2014 tournament included Dayton, Ohio, Orlando, Fla. and Buffalo, N.Y.
On the second weekend of the 2014 NCAA Tournament, regional games will be played in New York City's Madison Square Garden for the first time in 53 years.

Agreed, but its ok. Unlike our timid friends in Durham and Chapel Hill, the Pack is not afraid to go on the road. We will prevail; where ever they send us!!
Yeah yeah, they're wusses and we're real men. We're not afraid of what we haven't faced in like . . . forever. Such a privilege it is being us.
Sorry for the negativity. I'm actually excited about our program, but it still pizzes me off. It just seems like the universe is always against us. They couldn't just put it in Greensboro? Seriously!
