Practice notes: Jokinen, Wallace clear waivers

Posted March 27, 2013

Canes had minor tweaks to the lines at practice. Tuomo Ruutu was skating with Jordan Staal and Jeff Skinner. Drayson Bowman was on a line with Riley Nash at center and Patrick Dwyer on the opposite wing.

Jussi Jokinen and Tim Wallace did not practice as both players awaited word from the waiver wire.

Both players cleared. GM Jim Rutherford confirmed to me that Jokinen will stay up with the Hurricanes, Wallace will be sent down to Charlotte.

Chad LaRose did not practice. Afterwards Kirk Muller said that LaRose had come down with the flu and will not accompany the team to Toronto. LaRose appeared in his first game since suffering a concussion 10 games ago.

Injured players Dan Ellis, Justin Faulk and Bobby Sanguinetti are going to join the team on the trip. There was no word if any of those players will come off the injured list as the team travels to Toronto, Winnipeg and Montreal.

The constant shuffling of players and injuries has put the Canes in a state of disarray.
