Prestonwood places three courses in North Carolina's top 100

For the first time in its history, Prestonwood Country Club in Cary had all three of its courses voted into the top 100 in the latest rankings of best courses in North Carolina as determined by the North Carolina Golf Panel.
Home to the SAS Championship of the PGA Champions Tour, Prestonwood features three championship courses. The Highlands course, ranked for the first time, checked in at No. 42 on the list. The Meadows and Fairways courses were ranked the 68th and 83rd best courses in the state respectively.
Tops on the list for the second consecutive year was Pinehurst No. 2. In all, courses in Pinehurst claimed seven of the top 16 courses.
The top rated course in the Triangle was Raleigh Country Club which checked in at No. 20. Lonnie Poole Golf Course claimed the No. 72 spot.
Durham’s Treyburn Country Club, Old Chatham Golf Club, Duke University Golf Club and Hope Valley Country Club all made the cut at Nos. 27, 28, 36 and 49, repectively.
UNC’s home course, Finley Golf club was voted in at No. 44, down three spots from last year.
