NC State pitcher Carlos Rodon fanned 11 to lead Team USA (20-3) to a 5-3 victory and a series sweep over Cuba Tuesday at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

In six and two thirds innings pitched Rodon threw 82 pitches, 63 strikes and only allowed three hits. Rodon’s opening pitch was a 94 mile-per-hour fast ball, his last hit 95. Rodon left the mound to a standing ovation from the 4,845 fans in attendance.

Fellow Wolfpack teammate Trea Turner started Tuesday at shortstop and took the leadoff spot. Turner had two runs, a hit, a stolen base and a walk.

Turner had batted a .208 in 19 games prior to Tuesday. In 72 at bats Turner had 11 runs, 15 hits and eight stolen bases.

North Carolina's Skye Bolt entered in the eighth to pinch hit but struck out swinging. He remained in the game in the ninth to play center field. In 12 games played, Bolt had a batting average of .125 with four hits, three runs and a homerun.

Team USA won the first four games of the Friendship Series being held between USA and Cuba in various cities in the United States for the first time since 1996.

Lol, he really is a force. Most likely a top 5 pick, very proud of the baseball crew! EA has done a really good job of getting talent into the program.

I hope that Rodon is the first pitcher in the draft next year, or maybe the overall number one pick. He has definitely shown that he is deserving right now.

Glad he's playing against Cuba and not UNC. It's fun pulling for him for a change. He's a beast. Reminds me of Roger Clemens.

Very nice Carlos! It is fun to watch you play. I hope you go to the National League...I'd like for you to have a bat in your hands. Go Pack.
